Say to the heathen, He shall reign,
The world shall rise to life again,
And rest secure beneath His sway:
Yea, He shall bid oppression cease,
And judge the earth in righteousness.

Let earth be glad! let Heaven rejoice!
And ocean's ceaseless sounding voice
Proclaim the truth to every car!
Let hill and vale prolong the sound,
Till earth and sky with joy resound,
For lo! the Lord himself is near.
He comes! He comes to earth again!
He comes in love and peace to reign.
