The position of these negroid skeletons in the cave was nearly 212 feet lower than that of another skeleton which measured 6 feet 312 inches from head to foot. This veritable giant has been described by Dr. Verneau as belonging to the Cro-Magnon race—thus proving the existence of two very different races in the same locality, and almost on the same chronological horizon.
