Although I have never seen a T. angutatus with distinct epitheca and expanded base, yet, judging from the analogy of T. conulus, it
is reasonable to suppose that they were originally present : indeed it is exceedingly rare to find even a trace of the costnlate wall, their usual condition being that of dark phosphate casts.
