Nearly as large a number of farms derived their prin- cipal source of income from hay and grain and from miscel- laneous products respectively as from live stock. It may be noted that only 18.4 per cent of the land used mainly for the raising of live stock was improved, while in the production of hay and grain the per cent improved was 59.8. About one- fourth of the land was improved that derived its principal source of income from either miscellaneous or dairy produce.
