One of his brothers, Edward Methuen, an officer in the third regiment of foot guards, was killed at Talavera, July 27, 1809; another, Charles Leonard, is a Commander, R.N., and one of the only four Europeans now in existence who have ever visited and travelled round the Dead Sea; this tour he performed in company with Captain James Mangles, R.N.
