ROM henceforth two Juftices fworn fhall be af- figned, before whom, and none other, Aflifes of Novel diJJ'eifm, Mcrtdaunseftor, and Attaints fhall be taken, and they fhall affociate unto them one or two of the difcreeteft Knights of the Shire into which they fhall come ; (2) and fhall take the forefaid Afli- fes and Attaints but thrice in the Year at the moft, that is to fay, firft between the ghtinzime of Saint John Baptiji, and the Gule of Augujt; and the fecond Time, between the Feaft of the Exaltation of the Holy Crofs, and the Utas of Saint Michael; and the third Time, between the Feaft of the Epiphany, and the Feaft of the Purification of the blefled Mary. (3.) And in every Shire at every taking of Aflifes be- fore their Departure, they fhall appoint the Day of their Return, fo that every one of the Shire may know of their coming, and fhall adjourn the Aflifes from Term to Term, if the taking of them be de- ferred at any Day by vouching to Warranty, by Ef- foin, or by Default of Jurors.
