The Penalty of thofe which do faften Trinks or other Nets over any River. In what Sort Owners of Trinks may fifh with them. ITEM it is ordained, That the ftanding of Nets and Engines called Trinks, and all other Nets, which be and were wont to be faftened and hanged continually Day and Night, by a certain Time in the Year, to great Pofts, Boats, and Anchors, over- thwart the River of Thames, and other Rivers of the Realm, which Standing is a Caufe of as great and more Deftrudtion of the Brood and Fry of Fifh, and Difturbanee of the common Paffage of Veffels, as be the Wears, Kydels, or any other Engines, be who ly defended for ever; (1) and that every Perfon that fetteth or faftentth them hereafter to fuch Pofts, Boats, and Anchors, or like Thing, continually to ftand as afore is faid, and be duly thereof by the Courfe of the Law convict, fhall forfeit to the King C s. at every Time that he is fo proved in Default. (?) Provided always, That it fhall be lawful to the PofTeiTors of the faid Trinks, if they be of Affife, to fifh with them in all feafon- able Times, drawing and pulling them by hand, as other Fifhers do with other Nets, and not faf- tening or tatking the faid Nets to Pofts, Boats, and Anchors, continually to ftand as afore is faid ; (4) faving always to every of the King's liege People their Right, Title, and Inheritance in their Fifhings in the faid Water.'
