City of London, and their Succeflbrs, to perform and accomplifh the Works in this A€i mentioned; (2) uponCoais... JBe it enadted by the Authority aforefaid. That for all Sorts of Coals, which from and after the four and twentieth Day of June one thoufand fix hundred fixty-feven, and before the four and twentieth Day of June one thoufand fix hundred feventy-feven, Ihall be imported and brought into the Port of the City oi' London, or the River of T'Www within the Liberty of the faid City of London, upon the fame River, to be fold by
- the Chaldron or Ton, there fhall be paid by way of Impofition thereupon, (over and befides all other Im-
poftcions and Duties due and payable for any fort of the faid Coals, by Virtue of any Law or Statute now in Force) according to the Rates hereafter mentioned ; that is to fay, For fuch forts of Coals as are ufually ibid by the Chaldron, for every Chaldron thereof containing thirty-fix Bufhels IVinche/fer Mcafure, the Sum of twelve Pence ; and for all fuch forts of Coals as are fold by the Ton, for every Ton thereof containing twenty hundred Weight, the like Sum of twelve Pence; (3) which faid Impofition of twelve Pence for every Chaldron or Ton of Coals, fhall from Time to Time during the Term aforefaid be anfwered and paid unto the faid Mayor, Commonalty and Citizens, and their Succeflbrs, or to their Deputy or Depu- ties, Officers or Afligns, by the Mafter, Owner or Owners, or other Perfon or Perfons taking Charge of any Ship or Veflel whereupon the fame (hall be laden, before they fhall break Bulk, or have a Meter ,afligned for the meafuring or weighing of any Coals aforefaid, to be delivered from on Board any fuch Ship ior Veflel ; the fame to be paid at fuch Place or Places, as by the faid Mayor and Court of Aldermen fhall ifrom Time to Time be appointed for the Receipt thereof; upon Receipt whereof, tTie Party appointed to • receive the fame Ihall without Delay, Fee or Reward, deliver a Receipt to the Perfon or Perfons who ihalli pay the faid Duty, which Rtceipt fhall for fo much be a fufHcient Difcharge.
