Suliflitutes, "do within their refpcftive Pariflies, Precinfls, and Places, take an exafl: and true Account, and keep a Regifter in writing of all and every Perfon or Perfons married, buried, chriftened or born in his or their refpeilive Pariflies or PrecincSs, or in fuch common Burying Places as their refpeftive Pa- rifhioners are ufually buried in, to which Book or Regifter the Colle6lors for the refpedtive Pariflies and ' Places, and all other Perfons concerned, ftiall have free Accefs to view the fame at all feafonable Times, without any Fee or Reward ; and if any fuch Parfon or Minifter ihall refufe or neglect to keep a true Re- I gifter thereof, as before is direfted, fuch Parfon or other Minifter fo offending fliall forfeit the Sum of one hundred Pounds, to be recovered by fuch Perfon as fhall fue for the fame, in any of His Majefly's Courts of Record at Weftmtnjler., by any A6lion of Debt, Bill, Plaint, or Information, wherein no Eflbin, Wager of Law, or Protection, fliall be allowed, and wherein the Profecutor fliall recover his full Cofts ; the Moi- ety of which Forfeiture fliall be to the Ufe of the King's Majefty, His Heirs, and Succeflbrs, and the other Moiety to the Perfons who fliall inform and fue for the fame. LII. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid. That no Perfon fliall be married at any Place pretending to be exempt from the Vifitation of the Biftiop of the Diocefe, without a Licence firft had and obtained, except the Banns fliall be publiflied and certified according to Law; and that every Parfon, Vicar, and Curate, who fhall marry any Perfons contrary to the true Intent and Meaning hereof, fliall for- feit the Sum of one hundred Pounds, to be recovered by Aftion of Debt, Bill, Plaint, or Information, in any of his Majefty's Courts of Record ; one Moiety whereof to the King, his Heirs, and Succeflbrs, and. the other Moiety to the Informer who fliall fue for the fame ; and fhall for the fecond Offence be fufpended ah Officio ^ Beneficio, for the Space of three Years. clandejiine Mar yi ages void. An Act for granting to his Majefty feveral additional Duties upon Coffee, Tea, Chocolate^ and Spices, towards Satisfaftion of the Debts dtie for Tranfport Service for the Reduftion of Ireland. HEREAS for the reducing the Kingdom of Ireland to its due Obedience to His Majefty, feveral Ships of his Majefty's Subjects were hired for traniporting Forces, Ammunition, and Provifions into the faid Kingdom ; to the feveral Owners of which faid Ships there is due the Sum of three hundred thirty thoufand fcven hundred fixty-nine Pounds ten Shillings and feven Pence Principal Money, as ap- pears by a Report made to the Houfe of Commons by the Commiflioners appointed by one Aft of Par- liament made in the fifth and fixth Year of the Reign of King William and Queen Mary, intituled. dom .•' We Your Majefty's moft dutiful and loyal Subjeits, the Commons in Parliament affembled, being
willing that a Fund may be raifed for the anfwering and paying to Your Majefty's faid Subjedls, the feveral and refpeftive Owners of the faid Ships, Intereft for the faid Money, from the firft Day of May one thoufand fix hundred ninety-five, for the Space of three Years, after the Rate of five Pounds for the In- tereft of every Hundred Pounds for one whole Year, and fo proportionably for any greater or lefler Sum, do hereby give and grant unto Your Majefty the additional and other Duties and Impofitions upon the fe- veral Sorts of Goods and Merchandizes herein fpecified, which fliall be imported into the Kingdom of 'England, Dominion of Wales., or Town of Berwick upon Ttvced, during fuch Time, and in fuch Manner and Form as herein after followeth, and do humbly pray Your Majefty that it may be enadted : 11. And be it enafted by the King's moft Excellent Maiefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame. That there fhall be anfwered and paid to his Majefty, His Heirs and Succeffors, for the fe- veral Goods and Merchandizes hereafter mentioned, which fliall be imported into this Kingdom of Eng- land, Dominion of Wales, or Town of Berwick upon Tweed, at any Time after the firft Day of Alay in the Year of our Lord one thoufimd fix hundred ninety-five, and before the fecond Day of May in the Year of our Lord one thoufand fix hundred ninety-eight, over and above all Duties already payable for the fame, at the Cuftom Houfe, the further Rates and Sums following, that is to fay, (i) For every Hundred Weight of Cofree imported as aforefaid, accounting one hundred and twelve Pounds to the Hundred, fifty fix Shillings of lavi'ful i;;?^///?; Money. (2) For every Hundred Weight of Cocoa Nuts imported, and containing as aforefaid, from any the Plantations belonging to the down of England, fifty fix Shil- lings. (3) For every Hundred Weight of Cocoa Nuts, imported, and containing as aforefaid, from any other Country or Place, from whence they may by Law be imported, four Pounds and four Shillings of like lawful Englijh Money. (4) For every Pound of Chocolate ready made, imported as aforefaid, one Shilling, (5) For every Pound of Cocoa Pafte imported as aforefaid, two Shillings. (6) For every Pound of Tea regularly imported as aforefaid, from whence the fame might have been lawfully imported before the making of this A£l:, one Shilling. (7) For every Pound of Tea imported as aforefaid, from Holland, or any other Country, not the Place of its Growth, or ufual Shipping, two Shillings and fix Pence per Pound Weight, and io proportionably for any greater or leffer Quantity of any of the Commodities im- ported as aforefaid refpefiively. (S) For all Nutmegs, Cinnamon,. Cloves, and Mace, imported as afore- faid, five Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value thereof according to the feveral Values cliArged on them refpecftively in the Book of Rates, and fo in Proportion for any greater or lell'er Qtiantity thereof, over a;id above all Duties now payable for the fame.
