C. 22. 25 Part thereof (hall go to the City, Borough, Town or Lord or Lords of Liberties, where the Offence fliall be committed or done: (4) And all fnch Leather, Shoes, Boots, Bufkins, Startups, Slippers, How the Wafts Pantofles, V/ares, Stuff and other Things whatfoever, made of tanned Leather or cun-ied Leather, f"//tfiBi^ 'for-'^ which ihall be feifed by Virtue of this Acl, and Ihall be found by the Triers to be appointed as is {.Ui irLcn- aforefaid, or by the Matters and Wardens of the feveral Companies aforelaid, to be infuflicient, (hall be don, (haii be forfeited and diftributed as hereafter followeth : That is to fay, fuch Leather or Stuff ib feized within the d'ft"'^"=<*- City of London or within three Miles Compafs of the fame, to be brought to Guild-Hall in London, there to be prized by indifferent Perfons, and the Value thereof to be divided into three Parts ; whereof one Part to be to the firft Seifor and Seifors of the faid unlawful Stuff, and another Part to t)ie Ufe of the Chamber oi London, and the other Part to be diftributed to the poor Folks, as well being within the New Hofpital of St. Bartholojnew's in London, as to fuch poor Houfholders as fhall be inhabiting within the City oi' London or the Circuit aforefaid, at the Difcretions of fuch Perfons as the Mayor of the faid Ci- ty and four Aldermen of the fame for the Time being, (hall appoint for the fame : (5) And that all fuch HowtbeWarcj Leather, Boots, Shoes, Saddles, Wares, Stuff and Things made of or with Leather as is aforefaid, which ^^'^1°J '{"^T^ Ihall be found within any other City, Borough, Town or Place within this Realm, out of the faid City fe^t^j in'oiircr of London and tliree Miles Compafs, infufficiently wrought, tanned or curried as is aforefaid, and Ihall Places, rhali be be feifed and tried to be forfeited in Manner and i orm aforefaid, (hall be brought to the Common H3II diltnbuted. of every fuch City, Borough and Town, or to fome convenient and open Place to be appointed by the L/ord of the Liberty or his Deputy, where no Common Hall is, there to be prized as is aforefaid: (6) One Part of the faid Value thereof to be difpofed unto the Poor, and in other Deeds of Charity in thole Parts, after the Difcretion of the Mayors, Bailiffs, Headboroughs, and Lords of Liberties ; another Part to be delivered to the Mayors, Baili(Fs and other Head Officers of any City, Borough or Town Cor- porate, to the Ufe of the Commonalty of fuch City, Borough or Town Corporate ; and where no fuch Officers be, then to the Lord or Lords of the Liberty where any fuch Forfeiture Ihall be committed, or Seifurehadj and the third Part to the Seifor or Seifors of fuch Leather, Stuff or Wares infufficiently tanned, curried or wrought, as is aforefaid, for his and their Pains. XLVII. Officers of Cities, Boroughs and Towns, within their feveral Jurifdidions, Liberties, Precinds, Offices and Authorities, Ihall enquire of all the Premiffes in their- Seflions, Leet or Law-Day, and hear or determine tihe fame, and alfo by their Difcretions examine all Perfons fufpec^ed to offend tliis Ad or any Parcel thereof. LI. And be it further enaded.
