All Laws con- cerning Water- jnen, &c. to be put in Execution tiightermen, Whcrrymen, &c, made one Company, ' couraged ;' Be it therefore enafted by the King's moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and the Commons, in Parliament afTembled, and by the Authority of the fame, That from and after the thirtieth Day of March one thoufand andfeven hun- dred, all and every the Subfidies, Duties, and Sums of Money, by the Afts before mentioned, or' any of them, or by any other A61 or Afts of Parliament, or Law whatfoever now in Force, granj:ed, continued^ due, or payable, or to grow due or payable, for or upon the Exportation of any Long Cloths, Short Cloths, Kerfeys, Bays, or Serges, Cottons, Stuffs, Stockings, Hats, Caps, or any other Manufactures of Wooll, or made of Sheeps Wool), or Coney V/ooll, or mixed with any or either of them, and which are or fhall be made or manufactured within the Blingdom of England, Dominion of Wales, or Town of Berwick upon Tiveed, fnall ceafe, determine, and be no longer due or payable to his Majefty, his Heirs or Succefibrs, for lb much as ihall be exported after the faid thirtieth Day of March ; the aforefaid Adts of Parliament or any of them, or any other Law, Statute, Ordinance, Cuftom, Prefcription, or Provifion v/hatibever to the contrary notwithftanding. IL And for the better Encouragement of the Woollen ManufaiStures of this Kingdom ; be it further enacfted by the Authority aforefaid. That the Subfidy and Aulnage of the old and new Draperies, and of all Woollen Manufactures whatfoever, within the Kingdom oi England, Dominion oHVales, and I'ov/n of 5«-w/f/t upon Tw«4 fliall, from and after the Expiration, or other fooner Determination (except for Non-payment of Rent, within three Months after the fame becomes due and payable) of the two Grants or Leafes of the faid Duties, to Charles Duke of Richmond and Lenox, for the Term of fixty Years, bear- ing Date the eighteenth' Day o^ December in the fixteenth Year of King Charles the fecond, ceafe, de- termine, and be no longer due or payable ; any Law, Statute, Ufage, Prefcription, or Cuftom whatfo- ever to the contrary in any wife notwithftanding. ^ . IIL Provided always,. That nothing in this Aft contained fliall be prejudicial to the Patent granted by the late King Charles the fecond,_ bearing Date at JVefttninfter, the fifteenth Day oi April in the twen- ty-eighth Year of his P^eign, to Sir James Hayes, and Sir Peter Apjley, their Executors and Adminiftra- tors, "of which there is about eight Years yet to come, but that the fame fliall remain in the fame and no other or better Plight and Condition than as before the making' of this Act; any Thing herein contained to the contrary notwithftanding. W. And for the greater Encouragement of Tillage, be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid. That from and after the thirtieth Day oi March one thoufand feven hundred, the Subfidy and all other Duties whatfoever payable for or upon the Exportation of Wheat, Rye, Barley, Malt, Beans, Peafe, and other Sorts of Corn and Grain whatfoever, ground or unground, and for and upon the Exportation of Bread, Bifcuit, and Meal, or any of them, out of or^from the Kingdom oi Etigland, Dominion of Wales, or Town of Bervnck upon Tweed, as to fo much of the faid Commodities, or any of them, as fhall be fo exported after the faid thirtieth Day oi March, fliall ceafe, determine, and be no longer due or pay- able to his Majefty, his Pleirs and Succeffors ; any Law, Statute, Ufage, or Prefcription to the contrary notwithftanding. CAP, XXT. An Aft for the Explanation and better Execution of former AJts made touching Watermen and Wherrymen rowing on the River of Thames, and for the better ordering and goverri- ing the faid Watermen, Wherrymen, and Lightermen, upon the faid River between Grave/- end and Windfor. WHEREAS, notwithftanding the Laws that have been heretofore made for good Order, Rule, and Government amongft the Watermen and Wherrymen, ufing and rowing on the faid River of Thatnes, it hath oftentimes happened, that divers People palling by Water iipon the faid River, have been put in Danger of their Lives and Goods, and many Times have periflied and been drowned, and this occafioned by the Unflcilfulnefs and Want of Experience in Wherrymen and Waterm.en, and Per- fons out of the Rule of any Mafter or Governor ; and for that in and by the faid Aits, the Rulers, and ' Overfeers of the Company or Society of Watermen are not fufficiently impowered to make Rules, Orders ' and Conftitutions, for the Order, Rule, and Government of the Watermen and Wherrymen rowing on the ' faid River, with Pains and Penalties to enforce their due Obedience to fuch Orders, Rules, and Confti- ' tions, and eafy Recovery of the faid Penalties : And whereas the Lightermen, rowing on the faid River ' oi Thames, are grown very numerous, and are at prefent without Rule and Government amongft them, ' by whofe Rudenefs and Unfkilfulnefs^ in working of Lighters and other large Craft, Ships and 'Veflefs ' are hindred in the Delivery of Coals', and thereby frequently ftopped in the Proceed of their Voyages, ' and the Goods and Lives of divers of his Majefty's Subjects are likewife frequently endangered and loft, ' and notorious Diforders are occafioned :' For Remedy whereof, be it enatfted by the King's moft Excel- lent Majefty, by and With the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame. That all and every Law and Sta- tute now in Force, touching or concerning Watermen and Wherrymen, and every Article and Thing in them contained, and not herein or hereby altered or repealed, fhall be duly put in Execution by all Per- fons therein concerned, according to the Tenor of the faid Laws, and under the Penalties therein con- tained ; and that all and every Perfon being a Lighterman or Owner of any Lighter or Lighters, or ha- ving and keeping any Lighter or other large Craft, or working in the fame between Grave/end- and IVind- for, fhall be, and be' deemed and taken to be of one and the fame Society or Company with the faid ^ Wher-
