VL And be it further enafted and declared by the Authority aforefaid. That all and every Perfon or Perfons now owning, having, ufing, keeping, or ivorking any Lighter or Flat Boats, commonly ufed for the lading and unlading Goods and Merchandizes, to or from any Ship or Ships, or other Veffel or Veffels, who iiiall rcgifter the Names of themfelves and their Servants, with their refpeftive Places of Abode, in the Book or Books of the faid Company kept for that Purpofe, on or before the nine and twentieth Day of Scptc7nber next, fhall be deemed and taken to be Lightermen, and they are hereby de- None But regif- clared to be Lightermen, within the Intent and Meaning of this prefent Aft; and it fhall and maybe tred Lightermen ]awful to and for all and every fuch Perfon and Perfons fo regiftred,- and no other Perfon or Perfons, but (extept Free J- ^^^^i (Free Watermen, who are not at prefent Lightermen, that fhall be regiftered as Lightermen at work any liigli- ^^Y Time or Times hereafter, and fuch Perfon and Perfons who fhall have been or are lawfully retained ter, &c. and ferved his Apprenticefhip with a Lighterman, excepted) to ufe, keep and work, or be employed in the working of or in any Lighter or Lighters, or other great Craft; upon Pain that every Perfon or Per- fons doing the contrary, fliall from Time to Time, for every fuch Offence, forfeit and lofe the Sum Penalty. of five Pounds for every Week, that he or they fliall have, ufe and work, or work in any Lighter, or other large Craft ; any thing herein contained to the contrary in any wife notwithftanding. 1*Io Perfon (ex- VIL And be it further enafted by the Authority aforefaid.
