Realm of /nVm;,'!', or Member of the H^oufe of Commons there, fliall, after the (aid five and twentieth Day oi March prefume to vote or make his Proxy, not having taken the faid Oath, and fubfcribed the fame as aforefaid, every fuch Peer and Member fhall from thenceforth incur, be fubjeiSt, and liable unto the Forfeitures, Penalties, and Difabilities in the faid firft mentioned AcSt expreffed, touching Peers ia Parliament, and Members in the Houfe of Commons in England. ' iiig j^jjjI purloining of the Materials v/ith which they are intrufled, to the great Prejudice of Trade and ' Commerce ;' Be it therefore enadted by the Queen's moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament afTembled, Penalty on Per- ^'^"^ ^Y ^^ Authority of the fame. That from and after the tw^enty-fourth Day of June one thoufand feven fons imployed in hundred and three, if any Perfon or Perfons employed in the working up the Woollen, Linen, Fuftian, the Woollen or Cotton, or Iron Manufadlures within this Kingdom, fliall imbezil or purloin any Wefts, Thrums, or Linen Manu- Ends of Yarn, or any other Materials of Wooll, Hemp, Flax, Cotton, or Iron, with yi^hich he, flie, or ,iaiftures, Sec. jj^gy jg ^j. ^j^jj j^g i,1t;J-^{^ed to v/ork upon, or fhall reel fliort or falfe Yarn, being thereof lawfully con- ehcfamer""^ vifted by the Oath of one or more credible Witnefs or WitnefTes, or by the Confeffion of the Party or Parties accufed of the fame, before one Juftice of the Peace of the faid County where fuch Offence Ihall be committed, fhall forfeit double the Value of the Damages done, for the Ufe of the Poor of the faid Parifli : And in cafe the Offender or Offenders fo convicted as aforefaid, fliall negledl or refufe to pay their Forfeiture or Forfeitures as aforefaid, that then it fliall and may be lawful for the faid Juilice to caufe the faid Offender to be committed to the Houfe of Correction, until Satisfafllon fhall be made ; And in cafe it fhali appear to the faid Juftice, that the faid Oilender is not able to make Satisfaction, then the faid Offender fliall be there publickly whipped, and kept to hard Labour, for any Time not exceed- ing fourteen Days. III. And to prevent the Oppreffion of the Labourers and Workmen imployed in the Woollen, Linen, Laboureri and Fuftian, Cotton, and Iron Manufacture, be it enaCted by the Authority aforefaid. That all Payments Workmen to he and SatisfaCtjons hereafter to be made to any of the fame Labourers and Workmen, for any Work by jjaid in Money, them done in the fame Manufacture, fhall be by the lawful Coin of this Realm, and not by any Cloth, AUWoolltobe Vi(3:,uals, or Comniodities, in lieu thereof: And all Wooll delivered out to be wrought up, fhall be fo wrought fliall delivered, with Declaration of the true Weight thereof, on Pain that every Offender, in either of the 1° w'^T^ °'* '^^ Cafes, fiiall forfeit and pay to fuch Labourer or Worker, double jhe Value of what fliall be due for f^Ml°y!^ ^^'^^'^ Work by him, her, or them done ; and if any fuch Labourer or Worker fliall be guilty of any fuch ■■' ■ Fraud or Default in the Work by him, her, or them done, then fuch Labourer or Worker fhalj allow and anfwer to the Owner of fuch Work double the Damages thereby fuftained, J IV, And
