And whereas by an Aift made in the firft Year of her prefent Majefty's Reign, intituled, Jn j£f Sec. J Annae, ' ^^,. preventing Frauds in the Duties upon Salt, and for the better Payment of Debentures at the Cuftom Houfe, lit. I. c,2i. (, j(. jg ena£ted, Th^t no Debenture fliall be made or granted, or Drawback allowed to be paid for or ' upon the Account of the Exportation of any Salt or Rock Salt for Ireland, unlefs the Exporter of the ' faid Salt or Rock Salt fhall produce to the Officer appointed to make fuch Debenture, a Certificate un- ' der the Hand of the Collector of the Cuftoms of the Port in Ireland, where fuch Salt or Rock Salt fhall ' be landed, or the Perfon executing his Office, of the particular Quantity of Salt or Rock Salt actually ' landed : And whereas 'tis equally reafonable. That for Salt and Rock Salt fhipt in order for Exporta- ' tion for Ireland, though the fame perifh by finking of the Ship, or be taken by the Enemies, there ' fliould be made and allowed a Drawback as in the Cafe where Salt and Rock Salt is exported and landed ;' Drawbacks &c. gg i,- enabled by the Authority aforefaid, That where any Salt or Rock Salt hath been or fhall be {hipped Saitlfloft"'OT 'fi order for Exportation to Ireland, and the fame hath perifhed or fhall perifli by finking of the; Ship or taken by the VefTcl on which the fame was or fliall be fhipped^ and laid on board, or is or fhall be taken by the Ene- Enemy. mies, then and in fuch Cafe the Exporter or Proprietor of fuch Salt or Rock Salt fo perifliing or lofl, fhall upon Proof made before the Juftices of the Peace, at the General Quarter-Seffions of the Peace, to be held for the County, City, Riding, Divifion or Place from whence the fame was fo exported, of the lofs of fuch Salt fo fhipped, or to be fhipped, receive from the faid SelTions a Certificate, that fuch Proof was made before them, and upon producing the faid Certificate to the Officer of the Place where the Duty on fuch Salt fhall have been paid or fecured to be paid, fuch Security fhall be dif- charged, and fo much Money as was actually paid for the Duty of the faid Salt, fhall be repaid upon , Demand by the faid Officer, without Fee or Reward. Ticltets for An-' many of which faid Tickets are fince burnt, loft, or otherwife deftroyed, whereby the faid Proprietors nuitieskjft, &c. < are in Danger of lofing their Money contained in fuch Tickets ;' Be it enadted by the Authority afore- on Affidavit and {-^i^^ That in all Cafes where itfhall happen, by Affidavit to be made on or before the firft Day of Ma/ Cernficate, &c.
