' millions, are in refpeft thereof, entitled to five hundred ' faid Sum of one hundred and fixty thoufand Pounds per Annum, and to a proportional Part of the ' Trade to the Eajl L.dies, and other the Parts aforefaid, have not united their Stock and Fund to the ' Stock and Fund of the faid Corporations impov/ered to trade by a Joint Stock, as aforefaid, but do Ijy ' thenifelves, or others by thern licenfed, carry on their Trade for their own feparateUfe and Accounts :' It is hereby provided and enacted by the Authority aforefaid. That the feveral Perfons entitled to the faid Stock, amounting to feven thoufand two hundred Pounds, their Executors, Adminiftrators and Affigns, . ihall and may peaceably and quietly have, hold, and enjoy their faid Proportion of the faid yearly Fund and Trade, as fully ai;d effeftually as they might have done if this Ail had never been made ; neverthe- lefs it fnall and may be lawful to and for the faid Englijh Company, and their SuccefTors, at any Time But after 29 Sep- after the nine and twentieth Day oi September one thoufand feven hundred and eleven, by Writing to be t.-mber 171T, figned by their Secretary, and to be affixed upon t:ht Royal Exehange m London, to give Notice of their N o'tKe an d Re" Intention to repay the faid Sum of feven thoufand two hundred Pounds to the Perfons who fhall be in- tereftcd therein, or entitled thereunto, at the End of three Years after fuch Notice given ; and in cafe the faid Englijh Company, at the End of the faid three Years, do fully pay and fatisfy to fuch Perfons the faid Sum of (even thoufand two hundred Pounds ac the Guild-hall al London, together with all Arrears (if any) of the faid yearly Sum of five hundred feventy-fix Pounds, which fliall be then due to the faid Perfons refpeflively, then, and upon fuch Payment made, or lawful Tender thereof, the faid Stock of feven thou- fand two hundred Pounds, and the proportional Trade and Fund belonging thereunto, fhall be, and are by virtue of this Acf, veiled and fettled in the faid Englifo Company, and their SuccefTors ; fubjecl never- thelefs to the general Provifo or Condition of Redemption hereafter in this Act contained, and to no other Provifo or Condition of Redemption whatfoever ; any thing in this Adl contained, or any other Matter or Thing to the contrary notwithftanding. V^III. Provided always, and it is hereby further enabled by the Authority aforefaid. That the before- mentioned Duty of five Pounds per Centum, for or in refpect only of fuch Goods and Merchandizes as ihall be imported into Great Britain by the faid Englijh Company trading to the EaJ} Indies, from and after the nine and twentieth Day oi September one thoufand feven hundred and fourteen, fhall ceaie, de- tennine, and be no longer colledled or paid ; any thing in this, or in the faid firft recited AcSt, to the con- trary in any wiie notwithftanding. IX. Provided always, and it is hereby declared and enafted by the Authority aforefaid. That at any Time upon three Years Notice, after the five and twentieth Day of Mareh which fhall be in the Year of our Lord one thoufand feven hundred and twenty-fix, upon the Expiration of the faid three Years, and Repayment, ^^^ upon Repayment by Parliament, as well of the faid Sum of two Millions formerly advanced, as of to'^ceafe?"* ' " *^he faid Sum of twelve hundred thouland Pounds to be advanced, as aforefaid, making in the whole three Millions and two hundred thoufand Pounds, unto fuch Companies, Corporations, or Perfons as fhall be then intitled thereunto, and of all Arrears which at the End of the faid three Years iliall be due for or upon the faid yearly Fund of one hundred and fixty thoufand Pounds *(?/• Annmn^ then, and from thence- forth, as well the faid Duties upon Salt and Rock Salt, as the faid Duties upon ftampt Vellum, Parch- ment, and Paper, and alfo the laid yearly Fund of one hundred and fixty thoufand Pounds, and all the Corporations erefted by or in purfuance of this or the faid former Afts, and the Benefit of Trade by this and the faid former Adts and Charters, or any of them, given, or intended to be given to them or any of them, fliall abfolutely ceafe and determine; any thing herein contained to the contrary notwith- ftanding. X. Provided always, and be it enafted by the Authority aforefaid. That this Aft, or any thing herein contained, fhall not be deemed, taken, or conftrued to repeal or alter an Aft made in the eleventh and twelfth Years of the Reign of the late King William the Third, of glorious Memory, intituled An Act for the more effeBual employing the Poor, by encouraging the Manufactures of this Kingdom, or any Claufe, Matter or Thing therein contained ; but that the faid Aft, and every Claufe, Matter, or Thing therein contained, fhall ftand, remain, and be in full EiFeft and Force, to all Intents and Purpofes whatfoever, as if this Aft had never been made; any thing -herein contained to the contrary thereof in any wile notwith- ftanding. XI. Provided alfo, and it is hereby further enafted and declared by the Authority aforefaid. That from and after the five and twentieth Day of March one thoufand feven hundred and eight, upon any Importa- houfe may take ^^^^ ^f ^^^ Goods or Merchandizes by the faid Englijh Company trading to the Eafi Indies, it fhall and Bond^sXr Goods "^^^ ^^ lawful for the CommiiTioners and OfHcers of the Cuftoms for the Time being, and they are hereby required from time to time to take one or more Bond or Bonds, under the common Seal of the faid Englijh Company, for all fuch of the Cuftoms and Duties chargeable and to be charged on the Goods and Merchandizes fo to be imported, as are Bondable, or for which Bonds have ufually been given ; any Law, Statute, orProvifion to the contrary thereof in any wife notwithftanding. ' XII. And whereas the Governor and Company of Merchants of London trading into the Eajl Indies, ' and the reft of the Members of the Englijh Company trading to the Eafi Indies, are defirous that a fpeedy ' and compleat Union may be had and perfefted, purfuant to the before-mentioned Indenture Tripartita, ' and have agreed to refer all Matters in Difference concerning the fame, and the compleating the faid ' LTnioii,^ unto the final Determination of the Right Honourable Sidney Earl of Godolphin, Lord High ' Treafurer of Great Britain ;' Be it therefore enafted by the Authority aforefaid. That the faid Matters in Difference between the faid Governor and Company of Merchants of London trading into the Eajl Indies, and the reft of the Members of the faid Englifi Company, and the fettling the Terms of, and per- fefting and complecting the faid Union, fhall be, and is hereby referred to the Judgment, Award, and 3 ■ fijial pajmeutj &c.
