Goods not to be removed before faid, fhail negleft to give or leave fuch Notice as is required by this Aft as aforefaid, he, (he or they fhall, for every fuch Offence, forfeit the Sum of fifty Founds ; one third Part thereof to her Majefty, her Heirs or SuccefTors, and the other tw^o Thirds to him or them that fhall inform or fue for the fame. XVI. And the better to prevent any Frauds or Concealments, whereby her Majefty, her Heirs or Suc- cefibrs, may be injured or deprived of her or their Dues ; Be it further enafted. That the feveral Tanners, Tawers, Dreflers, and Makers aforefaid, during the Continuance of this Aft, fhall not make Ufe of any Place or Places for the drying or keeping the faid Hides or Skins, or any Pieces of Hides or Skins, Vellum or Parchment, chargeable by tiiis Aft, other than fuch Place or Places whereof he, fhe or they ftiall firft have given Notice to the proper Officer of the faid Duties, to be the ufual Place or Places for his, her or their drying and keeping the fame ; and that the refpeftive Tanners, Tawers, Dreffers and Makers aforefaid, fhall, from time to time, give or fend Notice in Writing to the proper Officer for the faid Duties,_of the Time when fuch Tanner, Tawer, Maker, or Drefler fliall take his, her or their Hides or Skins, or Pieces of Hides or Skins, or any of them, or any Vellum or Parchment, out of the Mill, V/ooze, Liquor, Oil, or other Materials, wherein the fame (hall be tanned, tawed, fteeped, or drelTed, in order to be dried ; which Notice fhfill, from time to time, be given or fent two Days at the leaft, before the taking fuch Hides or Skins, or Pieces thereof, or the faid Vellum or Parchment, out of the faid Wooze, Mill, Liquor, Oil, or other Materials, or before the hanging up or difpofing the fame to be dried ; and that the refpeftive Tanners, Tawers, Dreffers, and Makers aforefaid, ftall, from time to time, permit and fuffcr the proper Officers of the faid Duties, and they are hereby impowered,

" "' Parchment, which any fuch Tanner, Tawer, Dreffer, or Maker, by or for himfelf or themfelves, or 6r by or for any other Perfon or Perfons, ftiall (at any Time or Times from and after the faid four and twentieth Day of June one thoufand feven hundred and eleven, during the faid Term of thirty-two Years) take out of Wooze, Mill, Liquor, Oil, or other Materials, wherein the fame fhall have been tanned, tawed, fteeped, dreffed or made, in order to be dried ; and fhall within two Days after the taking out of the faid Wooze, Mill, Liquor, or other Materials aforefaid, and before the carrying away the fame from the ufual Place or Places, where fuch Hides or Skins, or Pieces thereof, or fuch V^ellum or Parch- ment, are or fhall be ufually dried, make true Entry, with the proper Officer or Officers, of the Number and Quality of the Hides, Skins, and the Pieces of Hides and Skins fo taken out to be dried, and (hall ve- rify fuch Entry upon Oath, which Oath any Juftices of the Peace, or the Colleftors or Supervifors, that fhall be appointed for the faid Duty, in their refpeftive Diftrifts, are hereby impowered to adminifter, to the end the refpeftive Duties for the fame may be anfwered, as is herein after direfted ; and that no Tanner, Tawer, Dreffer or Maker of fuch Hides or Skins, or Pieces of Hides or Skins, or fuch Vellum entredandmark- ^^ Parchment, fo taken out of the Wooze, Mill, Liquor, or Materials aforefaid, after the faid four and twentieth Day of June, at any Time or Times during the Term aforefaid, (hall remove, carry or fend away, or fuffer to be removed, carried or fent away, the fame, or any Part thereof, from their refpeftive Yards, Work-houfes, or other Places where they (hall ufually dry fuch Hides or Skins, or Pieces of Hides or Skins, or fuch Vellum or Parchment, unlefs the Duty payable by this Aft for fuch Hides and Skins, and Pieces of Hides and Skins, and for ftich Vellum and Parchment refpeftively, fo to be removed, be (irfl: charged and entred, and a Mark be put thereupon to denote the Charge and Entry thereof, as this Aft direfts. XVIL And be it further enafted by the Authority aforefaid, That it (hall and may be lawful to and for the Officer and Officers fo to be appointed, at all feafonable Times in the Day-time to enter into any Tan-yard, Work-houfe, Warehoufe, Mill, or other Houfe or Place ufed by any fuch Tanner, Tawer, Currier, or Dreffer of any Hides or Skins, or Pieces of Hides or Skins, or by any Maker of Vellum or Parchment, chargeable by this Aft, or where any fuch (hall be lodged, to fearch and fee what Quantities of fuch Hides and Skins, or Pieces of Hides and Skins, Vellum and Parchment, are taken out of the Wooze, Mill, Liquors or other Materials as aforefaid, in order to be dried, or made fit for Sale or Ufe; and if any Owner or Occupier of any fuch Tan-yard, Work-houfe, or other Place as aforefaid, fiiall at any Time or Times, refufe Entrance to the Officer or Officers as aforefaid, he, (lie or they (hall for every fuch Refufal forfeit the Sum of ten Pounds; one third Part thereof to the Ufe of her Majefty, her Heirs and SuccefTors, and the other two Thirds to the Ufe of him or them who will inform or fue for the fair.e; and if any Tanner, Tawer, Currier, or Dreffer of any Hides or Skins, or Pieces of Hides or Skins, or any Maker of Vellum or Parchment, chargeable by this Aft, (hall endeavour to defraud her Majefty, her Heirs or SucceiTors, of any Duty by this Aft payable, by ufing any private Tan-yard, Work houfe. Pit, Fat, Mill, or Place, for the tanning, tawing, fteeping, dreffing, drying, or keeping the fame, con- trary to this Aft ; or by not giving or fending fuch timely Notice of taking his, her or their Hides or Skins, or Pieces of Hides or Skins, out of the Wooze, Mill, Liquor, Oil, or other Materials, as this Aft requires; or by not making due Entries, and giving an Account of the faid Hides and Skins, or Pieces thereof as aforefaid ; or by removing, fending, or carrying away the fame, or any Part thereof, contrary to this Aft ; or (hall fraudulently hide or conceal, or caufe to be hid or concealed, any of the faid Hides or Skins, or Pieces thereof. Vellum or Parchment, chargeable by this Aft, to the Intent to deceive her Majefty, her Heirs or Succeffors, of her or their juft Dues for the fame; that then and in every fuch forfeits 2ol. and Cafe, for every fuch Offence, the Party fo offending (hall forfeit the Sum of twenty Pounds ; one Moiety Things fo con- whereof to the Queen, and the other Moiety to him or them who will inform or fue for the fame ; and sealed. moreover, in all fuch Cafes, all fuch Hides and Skins, and Pieces of Hides and Skins, Vellum and Parch- wientj which (hall be found in any fuch private Tan-yard, Work-houfe, Ware-houfe, Houfe, Mill, or Place, Officers may en- ter Tan-yard, &c. Owrner refufing Entrance, for- feits 10 1, Tanner, Sec, ufing private Tan-yatd, &c. or not giving timely Notice, or not making due Entries, or removing, or concealing any Skins, &c.
