XXIV. And be it further enacfted by the Authority aforefaid, That for all Starch which any Starch- makers, or other Sellers and Dealers in Starch in Great Britain, or any Perfon or Perfons in Truft for him, her, or them, or for his, her, or their Ufe, fhall be poffefled of, and interefled in, upon the faid firft iDay of Augujl one thoufand feven hundred and twelve, for Sale, there fhall be yielded and paid to her Ma- 'jefly the like refpe<3:ive Rates as are by this A61 to be paid for the like Sorts of Starch refpe<9:ively to b: -made or imported after the faid firft Day of Augujl one thoufand feven hundred and twelve ; and that all and every the faid Starch-makers, «nd other Sellers -and Dealers in Starch, and all and every other Perfon and Perfons, who, in Truft for them, or any of them, or for the Ufe of them, or any of them, fhall be pof- feifed of, or have in his, her, or their Cuflody or Pofleflion, or in his, her, or their Work-houfe, Ware- houfe, Store-houfe, Shop, Room, or other Place or Places whatfoever, upon the faid firft Day of Augufl one thoufand feven hundred and .twelve, any Stock, Parcel, or Quantity of Starch, of Foreign or Brittjh Manufafture, for Sale, fliall, on or before the faid firft Day of Augujl one thoufand feven hundred and Ttwelve, make a true and particular Entry thereof, at the Office for the faid Duties on Starch, within the Li- iriits of which they fhall refpedtively inhabit, upon Pain to forfeit the Sum of fifty Pounds, and the Starch -'for which no'fuch Entry fhall have been made ; and within fix Days after he, (he, or they fhall have made, or ought to have made fuch Entries, as aforefaid, fhall pay down the Duties hereby payable for fuch Starch, ■or within the faid fix Days, fhall give Security to the proper Officers for paying the fame Duties to her Ma- .rjefty's Ufe, within three Months then next enfuing ; and in cafe the faid Duties for fuch Stock of Starch be paid down within the faid fix Days, then there fhall be allowed out of the fame Duty for fuch Prompt Payment, an Allowance after the Rate of ten Pounds per Centum per Annum, for the faid Time of three Months, and that all and every fuch Starch-makers, and other Sellers and Dealers in Starch, who fhall re- fiife or neglect to make fuch Payment, or to give fuch Security for Payment of the faid Duties, upon his, her, or their faid -Stock of Starch, within the Time by this Act limited for thatPurpofe, fhall forfeit double the Sum' of the faid Duty which fhould have been fo paid or fecured by him, her, or them, as aforefaid ; and that it fliall and may be lawful to and for the proper Officers for the fame Duties refpeftively, to take a true and, particular Account of all fuch Stock or Quantities of Starch as any Starch-makers or other Sel- lers and Dealers in Starch, or any in Truft for them, fliall, on the faid firft Day of Augujl one thoufand feven hundred and twelve, have or be poffefTed of; and for that Purpofe fhall be permitted in the Day- time to enter into any Shop, Ware houfe, Work-houfe, or any Dwelling-houfe, Out-houfe, or other Pla- ces belonging to fuch Starch-makers, and other Sellers and Dealers in Starch, and every of them, who are Jiereby re- quired to permit fuch Officer and Officers, upon his or their Requeft, to make fuch Entrance on the faid firft Day of Augujl one thoufand feven hundred and twelve, or afterwards, at any Time before the Duty laft mentioned Ihall be paid or fecured, and to take an Account of the Quantity of fuch Starch, un- der the Penalty of twenty Pounds ; and if any Perfon or Perfons, having on the faid firft Day of Augujl one thoufand feven hundred and twelve, in his, her, or their Cuftody or PofTeffion, any Stock or Quantity of Starch, chargeable by this A<9: v.'ith the faid Duties for any Stock of Starch, as aforefaid, fhall clan- dcftinely remove or carry away, orcauie or fufFerto removed or carried away the fame, or any Part thereof, before her Majefty's Duties thereupon {hall be paid or fecured, as aforefaid, or fliall fraudulently conceal or hide any Part of his, her, or their faid Stock of Starch ; that then, and in every fuch Cafe, he, {he, or they fo ofiending, for every fuch Offence, {hall forfeit the Sum of twenty Pounds ; and in all and every fuch Cafe and Cafes, the Stock or Quantity of Starch which (hall be fo clandellinely removed or carried away, or fra-udulently concealed or hid, fhall be forfeited, and fliall and may be feized by any the faid Officers for the fiid Duties on Starch ; and the Perfon or Perfons, in whofe Cuftody fuch Stock of Starch (hall be found, who fhall not, before the Difcovery thereof, give Notice at the next Office for the faid Duties on Starch, of the Stock or Quantity of Starch, fo in his, her, or their Cuftody, (hall alfo forfeit and lofe the ^Sum of tv/enty Shillings for every Pound Weight. XXV. Provided always, and be it further enafted by the Authority aforefaid. That it (hall and may be lawful to and for any Perfon or Perfons, who (hall have aftually paid her Majefty's Duties by this Aft pay- able for any Quantities of Starch whatfoever, and to and for any other Perfon or Perfons, who (hall buy, or be lawfully entitle 1 to any fuch Qiiantity of Starch from the faid Perfon or Perfons who aftually paid her Majefty's Duties 'or che fame, to export fuch Starch for any P'oreign Parts, by Way of Merchandize, gi- ving fufficient Security before the Shipping thereof for Exportation, that the particular Quantiiics oF Starch, iv/hich fhalJ be intended to be exported, as aforefaid, and every Part thereof, (hall be (hipped and exported, and that the fame, or any Part thereof, (hall not be relanded or brought again into any Part or Parts of Great Britain v/hich Security the Cuftomer or Colleftor of the refpeftive Port for fuch Exportation, is hereby direfted and authorized to take, in her Majefty's Name, and to her Ufe. XXyi. Provided always. That if after the Shipping any fuch Starch to be exported, ?s aforefaid, and the giving or tendring fuch Security, as aforefaid, in order to obtam the Allowance or Drawback herein after-mentioned, the Starch fo (hipped to be exported, or any Part thereof, (hall be relanded in any Part of Great Britain, that then, and in every fuch Cafe (over and above the Penalty of the Bond, which (hall be levied and recovered to her Majefty's Ufe) all the Starch which (hall be landed, or the Value thereof, fliall be forfeited. XXVII. And it is alfo hereby enafted, That any Perfon or Perfons, who (hall export any Starch to any Foreign Parts, fliall or may make Proof upon Oath, or by fuch Affirmation refpeftively, as aforefaidj That the
