Stat. 2. 631 ged, the Sum of fix Pence Sterling ; except Bail Bonds and Affignments thereof, and Indentures for binding poor Parifli or Charity Children Apprentices, and fuch Deeds executed in Scotland, zs are charged with the Stamp-Duty of two Shillings and three Pence, by an Aft of Parliament made in the tenth Year of her prefent Majefly's Reign. XXII. Provided always, That nothing in this Aft contained {hall extend to charge with any the Stamp- Kot to charge • Duties hereby granted, any the Matters or Things which, by an Aft of Parliament made in the ninth Year any Matters of the Reign of his late Majefty King William the Third, intituled, Jn ASi for granting to his Majefly, e.;emp'ed by hh Hcin and Sitcccffors, further Duties upcnffampt VcUtiTii, Parchment and Paper, are exempted from the Du- 9 '^ '° ^^- 3- ties thereby granted. XXIII. And be it further enafted by the Authority aforefaid. XXIV. Parch- tjji . i.'paij 'o ment, or Pap r, not appearing to have been duly marked or ftamped according to this Aft, That then, and the (Tueen, ancC . in every fuch Cafe, there fhall be due, anfvvered, and paid to her Majefty, her Heirs and Succeffors (over t'^)^ l^^'y l« p-nd above the Stamp-Duties payable hereby, and by the faid former Afts, or any of them), for every fuch P^"*' Matter and Thing refpeftively, the Sum of five Pounds Sterling ; and that no fuch Matter or Thing fliall be available in Law or Equity, or to be given ia Evidence, or admitted in any Court, unlefs as well the faid Duty hereby charged in refpeft thereof, as the faid Sum of five Pounds, fhall be firft paid to the Ufe of her Majefty, her Heirs or Succeflbrs, and a Receipt produced for the fame, under the Hand of the Receiver General, for the Time being, of the. Stamp-Duties, or of his Deputy or Clerk, and until the Vellum, Parchment and Paper, upon which fuch Matter or Thing is fo v/ritten or engrolTed, fliall be marked or ftamped, according to the Tenor and true Meaning hereof ; and the faid Receiver General, and his Deputy - or Clerk, are hereby enjoined and required, upon Payment or Tender of the faid Duties, and of the faid Sum of five Pounds, and fuch other Sums, as by the faid former Afts are payable in that Behalf, to give a Receipt for fuch Monies, and the'other proper Officers are thereupon required to markorftamp fuch Matter cr Thing with the proper i'Iarks and Stamps requifite in that Behalf. XXVI. And be it further enafted by the Authority aforefaid.
