And whereas, by an A£l paffed the ninth Year of her Majefty's Reign, certain Duties are laid ' upon tanned Leather ; and by another Act paffed the tenth Year of her Majefty's Reign, further Duties. ' are laid thereon, and by the faid Acts only two Thirds of the refpeftive Duties are to be drawn back or ' allowed upon the Exportation of Boots, Shoes, Gloves, or other Manufaftures, which by Experience is ' found to be a Difcouragement to the ManufaiSurers imployed therein ;' For Remedy whereof Be it de- clared and enafted by the Authority aforefaid. That from and after the fecond Day of Augujl one thoufand feven hundred and fourteen, there fhall, in Lieu of the faid two Thirds of the faid Duties, be paid and allowed to the Exporter or Exporters, for all tanned Leather, which {hall be manufa£i;ured and ac- tually made into Goods or Wares, by him or them exported, on a proper Debenture to be made for that Purpofe, and Security given for the fame, as by the faid A<?cs are preicribed, the Sum of onePeny Half- peny for every Pound-Weight thereof, and fo in Proportion for every greater or leffer Qiiantity ; which Drawback of one Peny Half-peny />«r Pound fhall be paid out of the refpe£live Duties granted by the faid A<Ss of the ninth and of the tenth Years of her Majefty's Reign ; any Law to the contrary notwith- ftanding. ' LXV. And whereas by an Act of Parliament paffed in the ninth Year of lier Majefty's Reign, intituled. An An for laying certain Duties upon Hides and Skins, tanned, tawed or drejfed, and upon Vellum and Parch- ment, for the Terin of thirty-two Tears, for Profecuting the War, and other her Majcfiys mofl neceffary Occa- fions. It is enafted. That upon the Shipping of any idides or Calve-Skins for Exportation into Foreign Parts, and giving Security to the Cuftomer or Colleftor of the Cuftoms of the Port from whence fuch Exportation fhall be made. That fuch Hides and Calve-Skins fliall not be relanded or brought on Shore, in any Port or Part of Great Britain, the Cuftomer or Colleftor fhall give the Exporter a Certificate or De- benture in Writing, of the Kinds and Quantities of fuch Hides and Calve Skins ; and that upon producing fuch Certificate, the Co!!e<Stor at the Port v/here fuch Hides or Calve-Skins fhall be exported, {hall repay to the Perfon producing fuch Certificate, two Thirds of the Duties which were before charged for fuch Hides or Calve-Skins fo exported, as aforefaid : And whereas feme Doubts have arifen upon the Conftru£tion of the faid Act, whether the fame fhall extend to allow a Drawback of the faid Duties, for any other Sort of Skins, tanned, tawed or dreffed, than Hides and Calve-Skins ;' Therefore to explain the faid A6f, Be it enacted by the Authority aforefaid. That all Sheep-Skins and Lamb-Skins, tanned, tawed or dreffed, which are chargeable with any Duties by the faid A6t pafied in the ninth Year of her Majefty's Reign, {hall, upon Exportation thereof, have a Drawback or Allowance of two Thirds of the Duties, payable by Virtue of the faid Acl, fubjeft to fuch Rules, as by the faid Aft are prefcribed on the Exportation of any Hides or Calve-Skins ; any Thing in the faid Act contained to the contrary in any wife n twith- ftanding. ' LXVI. And whereas by an Aft of Parliament made in the tenth Year of her prefent Majefty's Reign, ' intituled. An A^ for the better collcofing and recovering the Duties granted for the Support of the Royal Hof- ' pital at Greenwich, and for the further Benefit thereof, and for the prfcrving her Maj fly's Harbour A-foor- ' ings, it was (amongft other Things) enaftcd. That the Sum of four thoufand Pounds out of the Shares ' of the feveral Captors of Prizes, by Virtue of her Majefty's Declaration of the firft of June one thoufand ' fcven hundred and two, which fliouid remain uncalled for within the Times by the faid Aft limited for ' the Payment of the fame, fnould be applied for or tov/ards the Payment of certain Rewards for taking or ' deftroying Ships of VsF-di: or Privateers of the Enemy, during the late War, to and amongft the Flag Of- ' ficers, Captains, and other OiEcers and Companies of her Majefty's Ships of V/ar, their Executors or ' Adminiftrators, entitled thereunto by Virtue of the faid Declaration, in fuch Proportion as by the faid ' Declaration is direfted, if the fame iii,ould be decreed to them by the High Court of Admiralty, and Lifts' ' of the Ships entitled to itich Rewards by fuch Decree, {hould be tranfmitted to the Receiver or Receivers ' of Prizes, and the fame firould be claimed, and afterwards demanded to be paid within the refpeftive ' Times for the faid feveral Purpofes limited by the faid Aft ; anl that if the feveral Sums fo to be de- ' creed and demanded for fuch Rewards fliould amount in the whole to more than four thoufand Pounds, ' then the faid four thoufimd Pounds fliould be divided among the feveral Claimers, by way of Average, in ' Proportion to their refpeftive Intcrcfts, to be adjuftcd by the Receiver or Receivers of Prizes, or Perfon ' orPerfons appointed for the fame : And whereas Lifts of the Perfons on Board fome of the Ships, entitled. ' to fuch Rewards, at the 1 ime of the taking or deirroying fuch Siiips of V/ar or Privateers of the Enemy, ' during the late War, for which the fame became due, have never been tranfmitted unto the Receiver or ' Receivers of Prizes, the fame not having been fufficiently provided for in the faid Aft, by Reafon whereof ' the Receiver or Receivers of Prizes have been unable to adjuft the Proportions belonging to kvp.y.i] Claim- ' ers of I'uch Rewards, and to make Diftribution of the faid four thoufand Pounds according to the faid ' A& ; for PN.emedy, &c.'
