C. 7. 105 the faid eighth Day of March one thoufand feven hundred and ten, fliould arifc of or for an Hereditary Duty of oi<s per Centum chargeable upon Goods exported in certain Ships to the Mediterranean Se.i, and of or for another Hereditary Duty formerly impofed on white Woollen Cloths, fliould be liable, and they arc thereby appropriated for or towards making good a certain Fund of one hundred thirty-five thoufand Pounds per Annum thereby fettled or intended to be fettled during the Term of thirty-two Years (which commenced from the five and twentieth Day of Match one thoufand feven hundred and eleven) • r .'iifwerin"- and paying all and every the principal Sums therein after mentioned, amounting in the 1 Oeoi i. c. +. . hole to nineteen hundred twenty-eight thoufand five hundred and feventy Pounds, together with Inte- rcir. for the fame, after the Rate of fix Pound: per Centum per Annum, to fuch Pcrfons as fliould contri- bute or advance the Sum of fifteen hundred thoufand Pounds for carrying on the then War, or to thofe claiming from or under them, in the Manner thereby prefcribed : And it was thereby enacted, Tint any Surplus or Remainder of the Monies arifing by the Rates and Duties granted or appropriated by tha Act yearly (over and above the faid yearly Sum of one hundred thirty-five thoufand Pounds) fliould be applied for or towards the difcharging the faid principal Monies payable by virtue of that Act. And whereas by an Act made and pafled in the faid ninth Year of her late Majefty's Reign, for eftablifhing a General Pod-office, it was enacted, That from and after the twenty-ninth Day of September one thou- s«oi : on i . fand feven hundred and eleven, during the Term of thirty-two Years from thence next enfuing, the9Ann. .. . . weekly Sum of feven hundred Pounds, out of the Duties and Revenues arifing by that Act fliould be brought and paid into the Receipt of the Exchequer, as is therein mentioned : And by another Ad! cif the faid ninth Year of her Majefty's Reign, feveral Duties were laid upon fuch Hides and Skins, and 9 Ann. c n. Pieces of Hides and Skins, Vellum and Parchment as are therein fpecified, for the Term of thirty-two Years, reckoned from the twenty-fourth Day of 'June one thoufand feven hundred and eleven : And by another Act of the fame Year a Power was given for licenfing fuch Perfons as, after the twenty-fourth 9 Ann. c. 13. Day of June one. thoufand feven hundred and fifteen, at any Time or Times within the Term of thirty- two Years, fliould drive or keep any Hackney-coach or Coach-horfcs in London, JVcflminJler, or the Suburbs of the fame, or within the Parifhes comprized within the weekly Bills of Mortality, not exceed- ing the Number therein limited, referving upon every fuch Licence the weekly Sum of five Shillings to be paid monthly after its Commencement, during the Continuance thereof refpectively ; and a Power was thereby given for licenfing all fuch Hackney-chairs, which after the twenty-fourth Day of June one thoufand feven hundred and eleven, at any Time or Times within the Term of thirty-two Years from thence next enfuing, fliould be kept and ufedfor Hire in London, and Wejlminjler, and the Suburbs there- of, and within all the Parifhes and Places comprized within the weekly Bills of Mortality, referving up- on every fuch Licence the annual Sum of ten Shillings to be paid quarterly during the Continuance of every fuch Licence for a Chair : And it was thereby enacted, That there fliould be throughout the King- dom of Great Britain, railed, levied and paid, feveral Duties for Vellum, Parchment, and Paper, where- upon feveral Things fliould be ingrafted, written or printed, or whereby feveral Matters fliould be done (as is therein exprelfed) within or during the Term of thirty-two Years, to be reckoned from the firft Day of Augujl one thoufand feven hundred and eleven ; and that from and after the eleventh Day of June one thoufand feven hundred and. eleven, during the Term of thirty-two Years from thence next enfuing, there fliould be raifed, levied and paid, for all playing Cards and Dice, which within or during the Term . laft mentioned fliould be made fit for Sale or Ufe in Great Britain, or imported into the fame, the Duties therein mentioned ; and that during the like Term there fliould be paid a certain Duty upon Rock-fait which fliould be put on Board any Ship or Veffel in Great Britain, and exported to Ireland, or entred out for fuch Exponation : And by the Aft laft mentioned it was further enaited, That yearly and every 9 Ann. c. 1%.. Year during the Term of thirty-two Y'ears (which commenced from the twenty-ninth Day olSept.mber one thouland feven hundred and eleven) the Sum of one hundred eighty-fix thoufand fix hundred and fe- venty Pounds, by or out of the Monies to arife of or for the faid weekly Sum of feven hundred Pounds out of the Revenues of the General Letter-office, and by or out of all the Monies to arife of or for the faid Duties on Hides and Skins, and Pieces of Hides and Skins, Vellum and Parchment, by virtue of the faid other Acts, or euher of them, and by the faid Licences for Hackney-coaches and Chairs, and 9 Ann. c. n. by the faid particular Duties upon ttampt Vellum, Parchment and 1 aper, and upon Cards and Dice, and upon the Exportation of Rock-falt for Ireland, granted as aforefaid, or to be made good by fuch Ways 10 Ann. c. 19. ' and Means as are therein mentioned, fliould be a yearly Fund for anfwering-and paying all and every the ' principal Sums thereby appointed to be paid, amounting in the whole to two Millions fix hundred and ' two thoufand two hundred Pounds, together with Intereit for the fame after the Rate of fix Pounds per ' Centum per Annum, to fuc'i Perfons as fliould contribute or advance the Sum of two Millions for the Ser- ' vice of the then War, and other her Majefty's Occafions, or to thofe claiming from or under them in ' the Manner thereby prefcribed. And whereas by certain Claufes contained in an Art of the tenth Year ' of her faid late Majefty's Reign, a Power was given to licence an additional Number not exceeding one 10 Ann, c. -9. ' hundred Hackney-chairs, which after the twenty-fourth Day of June one thoufand feven hundred and ' twelve, at any Time or Times within or during the Term of thirty-two Years from thence next enfuing, ' fliould be kept and ufed for Hire within the Cities and Limits aforefaid, referving upon every fuch Li- ' cence the like yearly Rent of ten Shillings, payable quarterly, which Rents are thereby added to the faid
