' XXIII. XXIV. Provided always, That in cafe Proof fhall be made upon Oath of one or more credible Wit- On Affidavit, &c, neffes, before the Lord Chief Baron, and other the Barons of the Coif of his Majefty's Court of Ex- that Bills > &c - chequer, or any of them, that any of the Bills which fhall have been made forth for the faid Sum, not " r e o re d ° r " e " exceeding one million, by this Act were, by Cafualty or Mifchance, loft, burnt or otherwife deftroyed, before Notice for before the Time of fuch Notice given for calling in the fame, and if by the Party's Oath the Numbers calling in the and Sums of fuch Bill or Bills fhall be afcertained, and if thereupon the faid Chief Baron and other fame, &c.
