D. .1714. raifed by Sale of Annuities, after the Rate of five Pounds per Centum per Annimi, and confequently that forty-five thoufand five hundred Pounds per Annum, Part of the laid Sum of fifty-four thoufand fix hun- dred Pounds per Annum, will be a fufficient Fund for anfwering the faid Annuities at that Rate, until fuch Redemption : Nov/ for the Encouragement of fuch Perfons and Corporations as are or fhall be willing to advance, for the Service of the Publick, any Sum or Sums of Money, not exceeding nine hundred and ten thoufand Pounds, for purchafing Annuities at the faid Rate of five Pounds per Centum per Annum, to be fettled upon the faid yearly Sum of forty-five thoufand five hundred Pounds, Part of the faid yearly Sum of fifty-four thoufand fix hundred Pounds, until Redemption by Parliament, ac- cording to the Tenor and true Meaning of this Act : We your Majelty's molt dutiful and loyal Sub- >ur LI: jefty, that it jects the Commons of Great Britain in Parliament affembled, do humbly befeech yc may be enacted and declared,' and be it enacted and declared by the King's rnoft Excellent Ma'jefty, by md with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Par- liament ailembled, and by the Authority of the fame, That the yearly Sum of forty-five thoufand fiye hundred Pounds, Part of the faid yearly Sum of fifty-four thoufand fix hundred Pounds, is and lhall be a diftintt and feparate Fund, and be iffued and applied as this Act directs, for anfwering and paying the faid Annuities, after the Rate of five Pounds per Centum per Annum, to be purchafed upon this Aft, by quar- terly Payments, until the Redemption thereof by Parliament, according to the Proviib herein after fpeci- fied : Any Thing in this_ or in the faid recited Act, or in any other Lav/ or Statute whatfoever, to the contrary in any wife notwithstanding. II. And be it enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That all Officers, Cafhiers, and other Perfons what- foever, who are or fhall be concerned in faifing, receiving, or accounting for the feveral Duties or Reve- nues, out of which the faid yearly Sum of forty-five thoufand five hundred Pounds, Part of the faid year- ly Sum of fifty-four thoufand fix hundred Pounds, is to be fupplied, as aforefaid, or any of them, or in feparating, paying, applying, or accounting for the faid yearly Sum of fifty-four thoufand fix hundred Pounds, or any Part thereof, during the Continuance thereof, or any Part thereof, fhall perform their fe- veral Duties in the PremiiTes, as to them reflectively fhall appertain, under fuch and the like Penalties, Forfeitures and Difabilities, for any Offence or Neglect therein, or for detaining, diverting or mifapply- ing any Part of the faid yearly Sum of fifty-four thoufand fix hundred Pounds, or of the faid yearly Fund of forty-five thoufand five hundred Pounds to be fupplied out of the fame, or the Monies appointed for raifing them, or either of them, or any Part thereof, as are prefcribed and to be inflicted by virtue of an Act of Parliament made and palled in the ninth Year of the Reign of King William the Third of Glori- ous Memory, intituled, An Ail for raifing a Sum, not exceeding two Millions, upon a Fund for Payment of Annuities, after the Rate of eight Pounds per Centum per Annum, and for fettling the Trade to the Eaft-In- dies, for the like Offence or Neglect, relating to the Duties thereby granted or referred to, or for detain- ing, diverting, or mifapplying any Part of the Monies which were granted or appropriated by the Act laft mentioned. III. And be it enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That yearly and every Year, from and after the Feaft of St. Michael the Archangel in the Year of our Lord one thoufand feven hundred and fifteen, for ever, the faid yearly Sum of forty-five thoufand five hundred Pounds, arifmg as aforefaid, into, the Receipt of the Exchequer, fhall be the whole and entire yearly Fund ; and in cafe all the Monies arifing into the Exchequer, as aforefaid, fhall not in any fuch Year amount to fo much as forty-five thoufand five hundred Pounds, then the Monies fo- arifing, fo far as they will extend, fhall be Part of the vearly Fund for or towards the anfwering and paying all the Annuities after the Rate of five Pounds per Centum per Annum, to be purchafed upon this Act : And that all and every Deficiency and Deficiencies of the laid whole yearly Sum of forty-five thoufand five hundred Pounds, or any Part thereof, which {hall appear at the End of any one Year, to be reckoned as aforefaid, for Payment of fuch Annuities as {hall be purchafed upon this Act at the Rate aforefaid, for the fame Year refpedtively, fhall be fupplied or made up, from Time to Time, out of the firft Aids to be granted in Parliament next after fuch Deficiency {hall appear, and fhall, from Time to Time, he transferred thereunto, as foon as fuch Aid fhall be granted. IV. And it is hereby enacted, That all the Monies by this or the faid recited Act, required to be brought into the Exchequer, or to be there fet apart, for or upon Account of the faid yearly Sura of fif- Any Perfons may be Con- tributors, large. ' V. And for raifing any Sum and Sums of Money, not exceeding in the whole the faid Sum of nine ' hundred and ten thoufand Pounds for publick Services, as aforefaid :* Be it further enacted by the Au- thority aforefaid, That it fhall and may be lawful to and for any Perfon or Perfons, Natives or Foreigners, Bodies Politick or Corporate, to contribute, advance, and pay to the Firft or Chief Cafhier of the Go- vernor and Company of the Bank of England, for the Time being, at or before the refpective Days and Times by this Act limited in that Behalf, any Sum or Sums of Money, not exceeding in the whole the faid Sum of nine hundred and ten thoufand Pounds for the Purchafe of any Annuity or Annuities, to commence from the faid Feaft of St. Michael the Archangel in the Year of our Lord one thoufand feven hundred and fifteen ; and to be paid and payable to fuch Contributor or 'Contributors, or fuch as he, fhe, or they fhall nominate, his^ her, or their Executors, Adminiftrators, Strceefibrs, or Affigns refpectively, . ■until the fame fhall be redeemed according to the Tenor or true Meaning of the Provifo or Condition here- in after-mentioned in that Behalf ; fo as fuch Caftiier or Calhiers do firft give Security to the good Liking 1 of-
