Mary le Bon, and fuch Part of the Parijh of Saint Andrew Holborn, a: lies in the County o/" Middlefex, it was amongft other Things enafted. That from and after the twenty-fourth Day of September ont thoufand feven hundred and forty-fix, there fliould be and continue within the City and Liberty of Weftminfter one publick Office, which {hall be called by the Name of The Land Coal-me- ters Office for the City and Liberty of Weftminfter; which faid Office fliould, from time to time, be ma- naged by two Perfons, to be nominated and appointed by his Majefty, his Heirs and Succeflbrs; which faid two Perfons fo to be nominated and appointed, fliould be called anil known by the Name of The Prin- cipal Land Coal-meters for the City and Liberty of Weftminfter: And it was further enafted by the faid Aft, That no Perfon or Perfons fliould be capable of afting as one of the Principal Land Coal-meters, until he or they fhould take an Oath for the true and faithful Execution of the Office of one of Principal Land Coal-meters for the City and Liberty of Weftminfter, and other Places aforefaid, as in and by the faid Aft is declared : And it was further enafted, That it fliould be hnvful to and for the fiid Principal Land Coal- meters, or any one or more of them, to appoint a Number of Perfons to be Laboming Coal-meters within the faid City and Liberty of JVcftminJlcr, and other Places aforefaid, to be ft.itioned by the Principal Land Coal-meters, at the feveral Places and Times in the faid Aft for that Purpofe mentioned, to meafure out Coals, which (hall, from time to time, be fold at any of the Wharfs or 'Warehoufes where fuch Labour- ing Coal-meters ftiall be fo ftationed : And it was further enafted.
