An ACt for allowing further Time to the Con-imifTioners appointed by and in piirfuance of an Aft of the twenty-third Year of his prefent Majefty's Keign, intituled, ^Jn Att for extending and improving the 'Trade to Airica, to inquire into the Claims of certain Creditors of the Royal African Company therein mentioned, and for the Relief of David Crichton ; and for reftraining the faid Company from difpofing of fuch of their Effccls as are therein men- tioned ; and for (laying all Suits for Money due from or on the Account of the laid Com- pany, for the Time therein mentioned. PR. ' ^JS/HEREAS by an A<£1 of Parliament made and palTed in the twenty-third Year of the Reign of^sCeo. 2.c. 31.. ' VV his prefent Majefty (intituled, yf« Aci for extending and improving the Trade to Africa) it was ' enafted, That the Accomptant General of the High Court of Chancery for the Time being, and fuch ' two of the other Mafters of the faid Court, as the Lord High Chancellor of Great Britain for the Time ' being, or Lord Keeper of the Great Seal of Great Britain for the Time being, or the Lords Commiffioners ' for the Great Seal of GrcafBritain for the Time being, fhould from time to time nominate for that Pur- ' pofe, fhould be, and they v/ere thereby conftituted and appointed Commiffioners for examining into the ' Claims of the Creditors of the faid Royal African Company ; and to inquire and flaie how and when ' the fame v/ere refpeftively incurred, in fuch manner as in and by the faid A£t is direfted,' together with ' their Opinion of the Juftnefs and Reafonablenefs of fuch Debts refpeftively ; and to lay the Account of ' their Proceedings before the Parlisment with all convenient Speed : And whereas the faid Commiffioners. ' have laid an Account of their Proceedings before the Parliament ; but feveral Claims of the Company's ' Officers and Servants abroad, for Salaries due to them, or for Goods fold and delivered for the faid Com- ' pany's Ufe, and which are hereafter more particularly mentioned, for want of proper Vouchers from

' W7 H E R E A S his moft excellent Majefty now ftands feifed of the Dutchy of Cornwall and the Pof-& funhtr 55 ' VV feilions thereof; and whereas fome Doubts may arife in relation to his IVlajefty's granting Leafes G«- 2' i- 10. ' and making Copies of Offices, Lands and Hereditaments, Parcel of his faid Dutchy, or thereunto annexed ' or belonging ;' For obviating whereof, and for the Eafe and Quiet of the Minds of fuch Perfons as have taken, or Ihall hereafter take Leafes from his faid moft Excellent Majefty j and to the End that fuch Perfons may be fure to have good and indefeizable Eftates, and be encouraged to lay out Monies in building and repairing, or otherwife improving the feernl Lands and Tenements to them demifed, or to be demifed; Be it cnaded by the King's moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame, ThatHis Majefty en- all Leafes and Grants made or to be made by Copy of Court Roll, according to the Cuftom of the refpcitive abled to make Manor or Manors of the faid Dutchy, or thereunto annexed or belonging; and all Leafes and Grants to^.™'^^»/'"^'-°" be made within feven Years next enfuing, by Letters Patents or Indentures under the Great Seal of Great^-^f^^^ g.^^ p^^^ Britain, or Seal of the Court of Exchequer, or by Copy of Court Roll according to the Cuftom of thccel of Jus Dmchj^ refpeftive Manors, of any Offices, MefTuages, Parks, Lands, Tenements or Hereditaments (other than of Cornwall. Honours, Lordfhips or Manors) Parcel of the Pofteffions of the i'dld Dutchy of Cornivall, or annexed to the fame, (hall be good and effectual in Law, according to the Purport and Contents of the fame Copies, Leafes and Grants, againft our fovereign Lord the King, his Heirs and Succeftbrs, and againft all and every other Perfon or Perfons that fliall at any time hereafter have, inherit or enjoy the faid Dutchy by Force of any A<3: of Parliament, or by other Lim.itation whatfoever.
