' Vy Majefty King ^F}7/mot the Third of glorious IVleinory, (intituled, An AB for the encouraging ihe ' Exportation of Corn) it is amongft other Things enacted, That when Malt or Barley, IVinchLjhr Meafure, ' fhould be at four and twenty Shillings per Qiiarter or under. Rye at two and thirty Shillings per Quarter
- or under, and Wheat at eight and forty Shillings ^f/- Quarter or under, in any Port or Ports in this
' Kingdom or Dominion oi [Vales, every Merchant or other Perfon who (hould put on Ship-board in Englifli Shipping, the Mailer and two I'hirds of his Adariners at leaft being his Majcfly's Subjech, any ' Sort of the Corn aforefaid, from any fuch Ports where the Rates fhall not then be higher than as aforefaid, ' -with the Intent to export the faid Corn to Parts beyond the Seas, every luch Merchant or Perfon fo ' fliipping off ajiy of the aforelaid Corn, and giving fuch Certificate and Bond a.s in the faid Acl is men- ' tioned, fhall have and receive from fuch Farmers, Commiffioners, Colleftors or other Perfons in any ' Port rclpedtivtly where the fame Corn fhall be fo fhipped, for every Quarter of Barley or Malt, ground or unground, two Shillings and fix Pence ; for every Quarter of Rye, ground or unground, three Shil- lings and fix Pence; for every Quarter of Wheat, ground or unground, five Shillings: And whereas by one other KSk. of Parliament made in the fecond Year of his prefent Majefty's Reign, (intituled. An ASi to ajcertam the Cuflom payable for Corn and Grain i?nported ; for better afcertaining the Price and ^lantily of ' Corn and Grain for which a Bounty is payable upon Exportation ; for appropriating the Supplies granted in this ' Sejfion of Parliament ; and for giving further Time to Cirks and Apprentices to pay Duties omitted to be paid ' for their Indentures and Contraiis) it is amongft other Things enabled. That the Officers of the Cuftoms ' fhould be impowered to adme;-fure all Corn and Grain whereon there is an Allowance payable for the ' Exportation thereof, and for greater Expedition therein, that fuch Admeafurement fliould and might be ' by a Tub or Meafure, containing four JVincheJler Bufhels ; and that if fuch Corn or Grain intended to ' be exported, fhould be brought to be fliipped off in Sacks, that then the faid Officers are thereby im- ' powered and required to make choice of twoof thofe Sacks, outof any Number not exceeding twenty Sacks,- ' and fo in proportion for any greater Qiiantity, before the fame fhall be put on board for Exportau.n, ' and thereby compute the Quantity of Corn fo intended to be fliipped for Exportation, and according to ' fuch Computation, the Allowance or Bounty-money fhould be paid to the Exporter, for the whole ' Qiiantity proportionably, upon his producing a Certificate from the proper Officer or Officers of the ' Culloms, atteftijig the Qiiantity and Quality of the Corn or Grain fo fhipt for Exportation, with a Pro- ' vifb that nothing therein fhould extend to alter the then Praftice, with refpe£t to the Manner of ihipping ' Corn from the Port of Zo«(-/o» ; A.nd whereas the Method above prefcribed for the meafuring of Corn to ' be exported, does not particularly afcertain how Wheat Meal or other ground Corn or Grain, whereon ' there is a Bounty, fliall be meafured for Exportation : And whereas fome Doubts have arifen in fevenil of ' the Ports of this Kingdom, with regard to the Exportation of Corn ground and unground, as to the ' Manner of Computation ana Admeafurement on the Exportation thereof, and the Bounty to he allowed ' thereon :' And in order to reconcile all Difputes and Differences that may arife in relation thereto, and to make the Practice uniform in the feveral Ports of this Kingdom, We yourjV'IaJefty's moft dutiful and loyal Subjedfs the Commons o Great Britain m Parliament aJlcmbled, do moft humbly befee;h your Ma- jefty that it may be enafled, and be it enaifed by the King's moft Excellent Majefty, b-/ and with the Ad- vice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament aflem- The fame Bounty bled, and by the Authority of the fame.
