Afny one thoufand feven hundred, and fifty-four, purloin, inibczil, fecrete, fell, pawn, exchange, or cthcrwife unlawf"ully difpofe of any Clock or Watch, or any Part or Parts of any Clock or ^'atch, or any Gold, Silver or other Metal or Material, or any Part thereof, or any Diamond or other Precious Stone, v</t which fuch Perfon or Perfons fhall be intrufted by any Perion or Perfons praclifing the faid Trade or Trades, or any Part or Branch, or Parts or Branches of fuch Trade or Trades, and fhall Iv^ thereof convifted by the Oath of the Ov/ner of fuch Goods, or by the Oat'i of any other credible Witnefs or Witnefles, or by the ConfelTion of the Perfon or Perfons charged with fuch Ofience, before any one or more Juftice or Juftices of the Peace of the County, Riding, Divillon, City, Liberty, Town- or Place, where fjch Offence fhall be committed, or where the Perfon or Perfons fo charged fliall refide or inhabit (vv'hich Oath the faid Juflice or Juftices is and are hereby impowered and required to adminifter) .Tu-n 0;Te,-.cc. eveiy fuch Offender fliall for the firft Offence forfeit twenty Pounds; and in cafe the faid P'orfeiture fhall. not be forthwith paid, the Juftice or Juftices before whom fuch Conviiftion fliall be had, fhall commit the i^arty or Parties. fo convided to the Floufe of Correction or other publick Prifbn of fuch County, Riding,-. Divifion, City, Liberty, Town or Place, there to be kept to hard Labour for the Space of fourteen Days, unlefs fuch Forfeiture fhill be fooner paid ; and if within two Days before the Expiration of fuch fourteen. Days, fuch Forfeiture fnall not be paid, the faid Juftice or Juftices is and are hereby impowered to order the Perfon or P,;rfons fo convicted to be publickly whipped at the Market i lace, or fomc other publick Place of the City^ Town or Place, where fuch Offender or Offenders fhall be refpectively committed;, and in cafe of a further Convifiion in manner before prefcribed by this AiSt, for or upon a fecond or other fubfequent Offence of the fame Kind, the Perfon or Perfons fo again oftcnding, "being thereof convicted in. manner aforefaid, fliall for every fecond or other fubfequent Offence forfeit forty Pounds ; and in cafe the faid Forfeiture fhall not be fbrthwith paid, ths Juftice or Juftices before whom fuch Conviction ihall be had, fhall commit the Perfon or Perfons ib again offending to the Floufc of Corr«.T;ion or other publick Frifon as aforefaid, there to be kept to hard I^abour for any Time not exceeding throe Months, nor l_efs than one Month, unlefs the faid Forfeiture fliall be fooner paid; and if w.thin ken Days before the Ex:-. piration of the Time for which fuch Offender or Offenders fliall be committed, the faid Forfeiture ihall not be paid, the faid Juftice or Juftices is and are hereby impowered to order the Perfon or Perfons fb. again OH'-^nte,
