An Aft for making navigable the River or Brook called Sankey Break., and the Three fever^l Branches thereof, from the River Merfey be!ov; Sankey Bridges, up to Boardman'% Seohs Bridge on the South Branch, to G£ri7?'d"s Bridge on the Middle Branch thereof, and to Penny Bridge on the North Branch tliereof, all in the County Palatine of ZrtH(-fl/i?r -, and alfo for adjufting the Meafure of Coal, to be brought down the faid River or Brook, and fold within the Town of Lh'erpaol, in the faid County. PR. HERE AS the River or Brook called Sankey Brook, in the County Palatine of Lancajler, from the Place where it empties itfelf into, and communicates with the River Merfey, below Sankey Bridges, is capable of being made navigable, up the Stream or Current of the faid River or Brook, and of ' the Three fe'erai Branches thereof; videlicet. To Bdardnicm's Stone Bridge, near Sai}it Helens, on the ' South Branch thereof, to Gerard's Bridge om the Middle Branch thereof, and to Fejiny Bridge on the ' North Branch thereof; and the making and' rendering the fame na-igable, within the Limits afore-men- ' tioned, for Boats, Flats, and other VeiTels, v/ould tend greatly- to the Benefit and Advantage of great ' Numbers of 1 radefmen and Manufafturers within the Counties Palatine of ZiT?r(^^rt- and Chefter, and be ' a great Relief and Convenience to the poor Inhabitants in the faid Places, and contribute to the Inrprove- ' ment and Increafe of the Trade and Navigation of this Kingdom :' Wherefore for attaining and effecting the good Ends and Purpofes aforefaid, be it enacted, i3c. Contents to be entered in a Book, with the Names of " the Owner and Mafcer, and Number of the Veffel. Allowance of Duties for Deficiency of Loading. " Undertakers may fet up W'inches and other Engines. Boatmafter or Owner anfwerable for Damages " done by the Crew. Perfons on board having Nets, &'<,-. not being qualified, to forfeit 5/. The River " not under the Survey of Commiffioners of Sewers. Undertakers to fecure Lands from being overflov/ed. " New Bridges to be m.ade over Cuts. Future Damages to be fettled by the Commiffioners. Penalty on " Undertakers neglecting to repair Bridges, Gates or Stiles. HERE AS the late King E/hvard the Sixth, by his Royal Charter in the fourth Year of his Reign, did, among other Things, give and grant unto the Mayor and Comm.onalty and Citizens (if the City of London, that they and their Succeffors fhould have within the Borough and Town of Southwark, in the County of Surry, one Marker or Markets to be there holden, and all Things which to a Market do appertain or may appertain, for ever : And whereas by an A£t of Parliament pafled in the twenty-ninth Year of the Reign of his late Majefty King Clmrhs the Second, it was enacted, That the 19 .Car. 2, C..4, faid Alarket fhould continue and be kept in the fame Place where it had been anciently, and was at the Time of making the faid A6t, kept ; and that the faid Market fhould not be kept in any other Place 4 E 2 , ' whatfoever :
