An Aft to explain and amend a Claufe in an Aft made in the fifth Year of the Reign of Queen Jnne, intituled, Jn ASt for the better Preft^rvation of the Game, in relation to the felling or offering to Sale any Game. WHEREAS by an Aft of Parliament made in the fifth Year of her late Majefty Queen Awic^ in- 5 Anna?, c. 74, tituled, An Act for the better Prefi-vation of the Game ; it was enacted, That if any Higlar, Chap- 13 R- ^-fi- i. c, man, Carrier, Inn-keeper, Vidlualler or Alehoufe-keeper, fliould have in his Cuftody or FolTeflion, or '3- ii^-7-<^. fhould buy, fell or offer to fell, any Hare, i-heafant, Partridge, Moor, Heath-Game or Groufe, every J^* '^^ g' ^' fuch Higlar, Chapman, Inn-keeper, Viftualler, Alehoufe-keeper or Carrier, (unlefs fuch Game in theg. HEREAS many Perfons, by LofTes and other Misfortunes, are rendered incapableof paying their EiyJ/flmft/oj- 29 whole Debts ; and though they are willing to make the utmoff Satisfaftion they can, are never- <?«<'• ^' '• i^- thelefs detained in Prifon by their Creditors : And whereas fuch unhappy Debtors have always bden deemed the proper Objefts of publick Compaffion, and by feveral Afts of Parliament have been dif- charged :' For the Relief therefore of Infolvent Prifoners who fhall faithfully difcover upon Oath, and deliver up and affign all their EfFefts and Eflates whatfoever for the Benefit of their Creditors; and to pre- vent, as far as poffible, the many Frauds and Abufes which in a great meafure have obftrufted the good Ends of fuch Afts ; Be it ena£ted by the King's moft Excellent Majefly, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame.
