A. D. 1762. Anno tertio Georgii III. C. 12. 31 Columns, which {hall not have been delivered to the Contributors as aforefaid, if any fuch be, to be delivered into the Receipt of his Majefty's Exchequer, there to be retained and kept as Cafh, to be iffued, fold and difpofed of for railing Money for the Purpofes in this Act mentioned, as any three of the Commiffioners of his Majefty's Treafury, or the High Treafurer for the Time being {hall judge reafonable and fitting. L. And be it further enacted, That the faid Managers and Directors, or the major Part of them Tickets of the middle which fhall be prefent at any Meeting as aforefaid, fhall caufe all the Tickets of the middle Columns Columns to be rolled up, in the Books made out with three Columns as aforefaid, which (hall be delivered back to them, by and fattened with Silk j or from the faid Cafhier or Cafhiers as aforefaid, to be carefully rolled up and made fad with Thread or Silk; and the faid Managers or Directors, or the major Part of them as aforefaid, fhall in their Prefence, and in the Prefence of fuch Contributors or Adventurers as will be there, caufe all the faid Tickets which are to be fo rolled up and made faft as aforefaid, to be cut off indentwife through and cut off indentwife the faid oblique Lines, Flourishes or Devices, into a Box to be prepared for that Purpofe, and to ln *° a Box marked with be marked with the Letter (A) which is prefently to be put up into another ftrong Box, and to be * he Let ' fr (f) locked with feven different Locks and Keys to be kept by as many of the faid Managers, and £° a ^° bs locked U P ail3 fealed with their Seals or the Seals of fome of them, until the faid Tickets are to be drawn as is herein after mentioned, and that the Tickets in the firft or innermoft Columns of the faid Books, lhall remain ftill in the Books for discovering any Miftake or Fraud (if any fuch fhould happen to be committed) contrary to the true Meaning of this Act. LI. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That the faid Managers and Di- Books to be prepared rectors, or the major Part of them which fhall be prefent at any Meeting as aforefaid, ihall alfo pre- w a "£ 'wo Columns, on pare, or caufe to be prepared, other Books for each of the faid Lotteries, in which every Leaf xkke^s to be printed. fhall be divided or diftinguifhed into two Columns; and upon the innermoft of thofe two Columns there fhall be printed thirty-five thoufand Tickets for each Lottery ; and upon the outermoft of the faid two Columns there fhall be printed thirty-five thoufand tickets; all which fhall be of equal Length and Breadth, as near as may be ; which two Columns in the faid respective Books fhall be joined with fome Fiourifh or Device, through which the outermoft Tickets may de cut off indent- wife ; and that in each Lottery five thouf.md eight hundred Tickets, Part of thofe to be contained in the outermoft Columns of the Books laft mentioned, fhall be and be called the Fortunate Tickets, to which extraordinary Benefits fhall belong, as is herein aftfr mentioned; and the faid Managers and Directors, or the major Part of them., or fuch of tnem as fhall be prefent at any Meeting as aforefaid, fhall caufe the faid Fortunate Tickets for each Lottery to be written upon, or otherwife expreffed, as well in Figures as in Words at Length, in Manner following; that is to fay, Upon The Number and Value two of them feverally, ten thoufand Pounds, Principal Money; upon two of them feverally, five of the Fortunate Tickets, thoufand Pounds, Principal Money ; upon every one of" four of them feverally, two thoufand Pounds, Principal Money ; upon every one of ten of them feverally, one thoufand Pounds, Prin- cipal Money; upon every one of twenty-feven of them feverally, five hundred Pounds, Principal Money ; upon every one of one hundred and twenty-five of them feverally, one hundred Pounds, Principal Money; upon every one of five hundred and thirty of them feverally, fifty Pounds, Prin- cipal Money; upon every one of five thoufand and one hundred of them feverally, twenty Pounds, Principal Money : Which Principal Sums fo to be written, or otherwife expreffed upon the faid Fortunate Tickets in each Lottery, together with five hundred Pounds, Principal Money, to be al- S° o1 - to the fir/l drawn lowed to the Owner of the firft drawn Ticket, and one thoufand Pounds, Principal Money, to the T' ck j et ,J a , nA IO ° o1 ' t0 Owner of the laft drawn Ticket in each Lottery, over and above the Benefits which may happen e a rawn " to belong to the two laft mentioned Tickets, and together with the Sum of five Pounds to be paid Value of the Blanks, or allowed for and upon each Blank or Unfortunate Ticket of the faid Lotteries, will amount in the Whole, for each Lottery, to the Principal Sum of three hundred and fifty thoufand Pounds, to be converted into Annuities by virtue of this Act, in refpect of the faid Lotteries ; and that the whole Bufinefs of rolling up and cutting off, and putting into the faid Boxes the faid Tickets, and locking up and fcaling the faid Boxes, fhall be performed refpectively by the faid Managers and Directors, or fuch of them as aforefaid, before the laft fi Days immediately preceding the Day by this Act appointed for the drawing the refpective Lottery, to which fuch Bufinefs fhall relate : And to the End every Publick Notice to be Perfon concerned may be well affured that the Counterpart of the fame Number with his or her f^™^ Tickets into'* Ticket is put into the Box marked with the Letter (A) from whence the fame may be drawn, and t h e Boxes, that other Matters are done as hereby directed, fome publick Notification in Print fhall be given of the precife Time orTimes of putting the faid Tickets for each of the faid Lotteries into the faid Boxes, to the End that fuch Adventurers as fhall be minded to fee the fame done, may be prefent at the doing thereof, LII.
