Succeeded to the throne on the death of King Frederik YIL, November 15, 1863. Married, May 26, 1842, to Queen Louise, born September 7, 1817, died September 29, 1898, the daughter of Landgrave Wilhelm of Hesse-Cassel. Children of the King. I.
