Cap. XXIX.

An Act to continue for a limited time the several Acts therein mentioned.

[Assented to 22nd May, 1868.]

Preamble.Whereas it is expedient further to continue the Acts hereinafter mentioned, which would otherwise expire at the end of the present Session : Therefore, Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows :


Act of Prov. of Canada, 28 V. c. 1, continued.1. The Act of the Parliament of the late Province of Canada, passed in the Session held in the twenty-eighth year of Her Majesty's reign, intituled: An Act for the prevention and repression of outrages in violation of the Peace on the Frontier of this Province, and for other purposes, is hereby continued to the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine, and from thence until the end of the then next ensuing Session of the Parliament of Canada, and no longer.

Acts of the said Province.2. The Act of the Parliament of the late Province of Canada, passed in the seventh year of Her Majesty's reign, and intituled : 7 V. c. 10. An Act to repeal an Ordnance of Lower Canada, intituled : An Ordnance concerning Bankrupts, and the administration and distribution of their estates and effects, and to make provision for the same object throughout the Province of Canada, and the Act amending the same, passed in the ninth year of Her Majesty's reign, and intituled : 9 V. c. 30.An Act to continue and amend the Bankrupt Laws now in force in this Province, in so far as the same are continued by and for the purposes mentioned in the Act passed in the twelfth year of Her Majesty's reign, and intituled : 12 V. c. 18.An Act to make provision for the continuance and completion of proceedings in Bankruptcy now pending, and the said last mentioned Act ; and the Act of the said Parliament, passed in the Session held in the thirteenth and fourteenth years of Her Majesty's reign, and intituled : 13, 14 V. c. 20, continued.An Act to afford relief to Bankrupts in certain cases, shall respectively be and they are hereby continued, and shall remain in force as respects the Provinces of Quebec and Ontario only, until the said first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine, and thence until the end of the next ensuing Session of the Parliament of Canada, and no longer.
