GOD OUR KEEPER AND OUR SHEPHERD

Responsive Reading (Psalm 46)
God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
Therefore will we not fear, though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled,
Though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.
There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God,
The holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High.
God is in the midst of her ; she shall not be moved ;
God will help her, and that right early.
The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved:
He uttered his voice, the earth melted.
The Lord of hosts is with us ;
The God of Jacob is our refuge.

Thou Art My Shepherd
(LYNDE. 6,6,6,4,6,6,6,4 )
Elsie Thalheimer, 1800 Thuringian Folk Song

  1. Thou art my Shepherd,
    Caring in every need ,
    thy loving lamb to feed,
    Trusting thee still.
    In the Green Pastures low,
    where living.waters flow,
    Safe by thy side I go,
    Fearing no ill.
  2. Or if my way lie
    Where storms are raging nigh,
    Nothing can terrify,
    I trust thee still.
    How can I be afraid,
    While softly On my head
    Thy tender hand is laid;
    I fear no ill.
