Alſo, you may make ſtoples of Glaſſes ground ſo ſmooth that no vapour can get forth by them, aſ you may ſee by this pattern.
A, Signifies the ſtopple of Glaſs ground very ſmooth and fit to the mouth of the Veſſell.
B, The Glaſs-Body.
But the beſt way is to have a Crooked Pipe, which may have Quick-ſilver in it, and be well luted to the body that no Spirit can get forth: and by this means the Glaſs will never break, for the Quick-ſilver will firſt yeeld.
