Note, that if any of these Feast-daies fall vpon a Monday, then the Vigil, or Fast-day shall be kept vpon the Saturday, and not vpon the Sunday next before it.

Dates of Fasting, or Abstinence.

  1. The fortie daies of Lent
  2. The Ember daies at the foure seasons; being the
Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday after ... the first Sunday in Lent
the feast of Pentecost
Septemb. 14.
Decemb. 13.
  1. The three Rogation daies being the Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday before Holy Thursday, or the Ascension of our Lord.
  2. All the Fridayes in the year; Except Christmas day.

Certain solemn dayes, for which particular services are appointed.

  1. The 5. day of November, being the day of the Papists Conspiracy.
  2. The 30. day of January, being the day of the Martyrdom of King Charles the first
  3. The 29. day of May, being the day of the birth, and return of King Charles the second.
