He was sometime Capt. R.N. He m. firstly, 1 July 1766, Elizabeth, only da. of John (Olsitus), 1st Baron Waltham [I.] by Ann, cla. and h. of Sir William Billers, sometime Lord Mayor of Loudon. On the death s.p., 10 Dec. 17S6, of her br. the 2d Baron Waltham [I.] he, by roy. lie. 3 April 1787, took the name of Olmius after that of Luttrell. She d. 12 June 1797. He nt. secondly, 10 July 179S, Maria, 1st da. of John Morgan, of the Inner Temple, London, Recorder of ( a ) His desertion of the cause of James II. is said to have caused the fatal defeat at Aghrim, a piece of treachery which excited " the abhorrence of the Roman Catholic population " in Ireland, by whom, finally, he was assassinated in Dublin, 22 Oct. 1717, aged 63. " Eighty years after his death, his grave, near Luttrelistown, was violated by the descendants of those whom he had betrayed, and his skull was broken to pieces with a pick-axe." See " Macaulay." ( b ) These titles were taken from Irnham, in Lincolnshire, where a family "f Luttrell (from whom the Luttrells of Somerset claimed descent) was long (1200-1400) settled ; and from Carkampton, co.
