Charles Henry (Coote), Earl op Mountrath, I 1800 Vrscot'NT Cootb ok Castle Coote, and Baron Coote op Castle u ' CitfE [I.], as also a Baronet [I.], who, in Aug. 1744, had sue. his father in those honours, having no heir expectant to his peerage dignities, was, on 31 July 1S00, cr. BARON CASTLE COOTE [I.], with a spec, rem., failing the heirs maU of his body, ta his kinsman Ghavles Henry Coote. He d. II. 1802. ;?. CnARLEs Henry (Coote), Baron Castle Coote [I.], sue. to that title under the spec. rem. in the patent of 31 July 1800. He was. s. and h. of Charles Coote, Dean, of Kilfenora, by Grace, da. of Thomas Tilson, which Charles was yr. br. to Robert Coote(») of Asb Hill, co. Limerick, both being sons of the Rev. Chidley C. of the same, D.D., who was s. of Chidley C. of Kfllester, co. Dublin, yr. br. of Charles, 1st EAitL op Mountrath [I.], both being sons of Sir Charles Coote, Bart. [I.], so cr. 1621. He was sometime M.P. for Maryborough ; was Genealogist to the order of St. Patrick and was P.C. [I.] and first Commissioner of the Customs. He m., before 178f>, Elizabeth Anne, 1st da. and coheir of the Rev. Henry Tilson, D.D. She d. in Dublin IS Jauy. 1821. He d. 22 Jany. 1S23. Will pr. jany. 1S24. III. 1823, .;. Kildare, by his first wife Maria, da. and h. of Laurence Coyne Nugent of co. Westmeath. He d. s.p. April 1827, when the Peerage became extinct. His widow m. July 1S28 Joseph (Leeson), 1th Eahl of Milltown [I.], who d. 31 Jany. 1S66, aged 66. She d. 14 Feb. 1874.
