York ; 1,352 acres in co. Stafford, and S8 in co. Renfrew. Total 5,554 acres, worth £8,629 a year. Principal Residences. — Thornton le street, near Thirsk, co. York, and Cathcart house, co. Renfrew. She, who was 6. 15 July 1699, d. (*) An outlawry for high treason, 3 April 1729 (under which it was generally con- sidered that these honours were forfeited) was pronounced by the HouBe of Lords, 28 Ju!y 1845, to have been irregular and informal
