(1515) 7 Hen. VIII. directed " ikomm Bullen dc Ormond" in, apparently, the BARONY OF ORMOND, or Ormond de Hocliford, enjoyed by his grandfather. He was subsequently cr. Vjscoust Roch- ford and Earl of Wiltshire. Oeorge Bullen, styled Viscount Rochford, s. and h. ap. of the above, was sum to Pari, as a Baron (LORD BULLEN DE ROCHFOIID ?) by writ 5 Jany. (1588/4) 25 Hen. VIII. directed " Or.onjio Bullen dc Rochford," in, not Im- probably, the game Barony, i.e. Rochford, or Ormond pa Rochford. He, who was br. to Ami, the Queen Consort, d. s.p. and v.p. being beheaded 17 May 153G and sub- sequently utlaintcd. He d. 1357 when the title (if a hereditary Peerage) became dormant, leaving Ralph, his B. and h., then aged 16, who d. 1346, leaviug another Ralph,( il ) Ail s. and h„ then aged one year, but Dugdale traces the descent no further " in regard that none of the family after the before mentioned Ralph [the Baron of 1342] were Barons of the Realm." Derby and of Runsbury, Wilts, by Sophia, 3rd and yst. da. and coheir of Thomas Coutts, of Westminster, Banker, (by his 1st wife, Susau, da. of [ — ] Starkie), was (")_ Courthope adds that this Ralph " <(. 1406, leaving by Agues, (widow of Edmund Hastings, da. and coheir of Sir Thomas Sutton, and a coheir of the Barony of Sutton of Holdernesse), Ralph, his s. and h. as*. 23, who d. 1410, and was sue. by his s. Ralph de Bulmer, at that time only 3 years of age. None of this family were ever sum. to Pari, after 1349. The male line terminated in 1558 by the death of Sir Ralph Bulmer, leaviug eight daughters and coheirs, of five of whom uothing is known ; of the other three, Joan was twice m. but d. s.p. Frances »>. Mannaduke Constable, of Cliffe, Esq., and left issue : and Milieent became the wife of Thomas Grey, of Barton in Kidale, Esq. ; she was living in 1584 and had issue. This Barony is, therefore, in abeyance between the descendants of such other daughters of the said Sir Ralph, who may have left issue, and the descendants and representatives of the said Frances and lUHccnt, who are likewise coheirs of the Barony of Sutton of Holdernesse." Hutchin- son, in his Durham," states that the above three were the only daughters whom Sir Balph Bulmer would acknowledge as legitimate.
