He in. Catharine, da. of Robert 'Watts, of co. Hereford. He d. 19 and was bur. 21 April 1710, in the Chapel of Holyrood House. Fun. entry at Lyon'office. His wife survived him a short time. John (Murray), Earl of Dunmore, Ac. [S.] 2nd but 1st surv. s. and h. b. about 1685 ; styled Viscount Fincastle, 1706-10 ; being, on 24 Jan. 1707, served heir to his elder br. abovenamed. He served (as Ensign) at the battle of Blenheim, 1704 ; at the capture of Vigo (as Brig. Gen.) 1719 ; in Flanders, 1732, and at t.he battle of Dettingen, 1743 ; becoming, finally, a Gen. in the Army. He was also Col. of the 3rd Reg. of Foot Guards, 1713-52; and Gov. of Plymouth ; a Lord of the Bedchamber, 1731-52 ; Rep. Peer [S.], 1713-15, and 1727- 52. He d. unm. in London, IS April 1752, in his 67th year and was bur. at Stamvell, Midx., having purchased the manor of Stanwell in 1720. Will pr. 1752.
