He commanded the Cavalry on behalf of the Lancastrians, at the second battle of St. Albans, but d. of his wounds, 28 Feb. 1460/1, a few days after that victory. His widow m. privately, 1 May 1464, at Grafton, co. Northampton, King Edward IV., and was crowned as Queen Consort, 26 May 1465. The King d. 9 April 1483, aged 42. She herself, who was b. about 1431 (probably at Grafton), d. at Bermondsey convent and was our. (with her second husband) in St. George's chapel, Windsor, on Whit-Sunday, 1492.
