Henry (Fitz-Hugh), Lord Fitz-Hugh, grandson and h., being 2d but only surv. s. of Sir Henry Fitz-Hdgh, by Joan, sister and coheir of William, and da. of Sir William Foubnbys, of Carleton, Notts, which Henry waB s. and h. ap. of the last Lord but d. v. p. He served in the wars with France, 1358-68. He m. Joane, da. of Henry (ScRor-E), lBt Lord Scroi-e [de Masham], by Joan, his wife. He rf. 29 Aug. 1386, and was bur. at Jervaulx Abbey. III. 1386. 3. Henry (Fitz-Hugh), Lord FiT2-HuGH,( b ) s. and h., aged 23 at his father's death in 1386. He was sum. to Pari, as a Baron(°) from 17 Dec. (1387), 11 Ric. II., to 1 Sep. (1423), 2 Hen. VI. He held a prominent position during the reigns of Henry IV. and Henry V., being employed by the former on missions to Denmark and Scotland, being Constable op England at the coronation of Henry V., to whom he was afterwards Chamberlain of the House- hold and with whom he served in the French wars. He is said to have visited Jerusalem, Cairo, &c. KG., 1408. He m. Elizabeth, da. and h. of Sir Robert Grey, alias Marmion, by Lora, da. and coheir of Herbert de St. Quintin. He d. 11 Jan. 1424/5. Will dat. 27 Dec. 1424, directing his burial to be at Jervaulx Abbey. The will of his widow (" Lady of Ravensworth *) dat. 24 Sep. and 10 Dec. 1427, at Witton directs her burial to be at Jervaulx Abbey.( d ) IV. 1425. 4. William (Fitz-Hugh), Lord Fitz-Hugh, 3d but 1st Burv. b. and h., aged 26 at his father's death. He was Bum. to Pari, as a Baron(c) from 12 July (1429), 7 Hen. VI., to 5 Sep. (1450), 29 Hen. VI. He was, with his father, in the French wars. In 1433 he was one of the Commissioners to treat with Scotland and, two years later, was in command against the Scots. He in. Margery, da. of William (Willoughby), Lord Willoughby de Eresby, by his first wife, Lucy, da, of Robert (Strange), Lobd Strange de Khokin. He d. 22 Oct. 1452. V. 1452. 5. Henry (Fuz-HuGn), Lord Fitz-Hugh, only s. and h., aged 23 at his father's death. He waB sum. to Pari, as a Baron( c ) from 26 May 1455 (33 Hen. VI.), to 15 Oct. 1470. In 1460 he was made Steward of the Honour of Richmond by Henry VI., but he appears to have been in favour also ( a ) Joan Fitz-Aucher, his sister, is said to have m. ( — ) Cloville, of Hanuiugfield, co. Essex, to which family the arms of Aucher are allowed as a quartering. ( b ) John Fitz Hugh, who was slain in the battle of Otterbourne, 10 Aug. 1388, is said to have been an elder br. of this Henry and to have d. v.p. It is more likely from the dates that he was a youuger uncle (not brother) to this Henry. ( c ) There is proof in the rolls of Pari, of his sitting.
