Gilbert Wicihton, which Pelham was s. of George Winn, of the same, the second son of Sir George Winn, Bart., of Nostell, co. York (so cr. 3 Dec. 1660) was b. 1725; called to the Bar, 1755 and was one of the Barons of Exchequer in Scot- laud from 1761 to 1776. In 1763 he sue. to the estate of Little Warley, co. Essex (by the death of his cousin Jlark Winn) aud was cr. a Baronet, 14 Sep. 1776, as "of Little Warley " afsd. He had, shortly before, sue. to the estate of Bramham Biggin (near Tadcaster), co. He d. a few months after his elevation to the peerage, 9 April 1798, and was bur. at Little Warley, Essex. Gilbert Wightou and was maternal grandmother of George Winn, after- wards 1st Lord Headley [I.] (•>) He is described in the probate act [merely] as "The Rt. Hon. Sir George Allan- Bon."
