(1425/6) 4 Hen. VI., to 2 ,Iau. (1448/9) 27 Hen. VI ; Constable of Windsor Castle, &c. He m. firstly, about 1400, Catherine, da. and coheir (whose issue in 1433 became sole heir) of Thomas Pevehkll( c ), by Margaret, da. of .Sir Thomas Courten.vy. She was living 1 Feb. (1411/2) 13 Hen, IV. He m. secondly Eleanor, dow. Countess of Arundel, widow of Sir Richard Poyningb (who rf. about 1430), da. of Sir John BERKELEY, of Beverstone, CO. Glouc, by his first wife, Elizabeth, da. and h. of Sir John Bktteshorne. He rf. at Farleigh Castle, 9 Aug. 1449, and was bur. (with his first wife) in Salisbury Cathedral. Will in which he styles himself " Lord of Hungerford, Iftytaburgp) and Bornet^), flat 1 July 111!'. His widow rf. Aug. 1455, and was bur, at Arundel. Her will dat. 20 July, and nr. 23 Aug. 1455. Robert (Hungerford) Loud Hvxgerford, but lstsurv. b. and h., by first wife, b. about 1400 ; served, v. p., in the French wars under the Regent Bedford ; was aged 40 and upwards, 14 19, when he sue. to the peerage ; and was sum. to Pari, from 5 Sep. (1450), 20 Hen. VI., to 20 May (1455), 33 Hen. VI., bv writs directed " Roberta Hungerford. Senior i, Militi." He m. about 1420, Margaret, da. and h. of William (de Botheaux), Lord Kotreavx, by Elizabeth, da. of John de EvERINOBAM. Ilea. 14 .May 1 459, and was 4 ur. in Salisbury Cathedral. Will dat. 22 April, and pr. 7 Julv 1459. His widow, on the death of her father, in 1462 became suo jure BARONESS BOTREAUX. She survived both her son and grandson, and d. 7 Feb. 1477/8. ( a ) Heytesbury, long the chief seat of the Hungerford family, was not a Parlia- mentary Barony. (") As to " Hornet," it was never a Parliamentary Barony, but a Seigniory in Normandy. (I') This Sir William de Moleyns, who was slain at the Biege of Orleans in 1428 and then aged 22, was s. and h. of William (rf. 1425 aged 18), s. and h. of Richard (rf. 1384, aged 30), s. and b. of William (rf. 1380) who was 8. and h. of William de Molryns, Bum. to Pari. 18 Feb. (1340/7), 28 Eel. III., but never (tho' he lived 24 years later) afterwards. If an hereditary Barony of the date of was created by this writ it must still be in abeyance as the Barony of De Moleyns, the abeyance of w hich was terminated 0 Nov. 1871, was the one er. by the writ of 1445. (') Among the ladies for whom Rubes of the Order oj the Garter were provided for the featt of St. George in 1448 occuis the " Lady Anne Moleyns." See '• llellz," p. ccxxiv, who adds as a note "Anne, da. of Sir John Whalesburgh and wife [Qy. widow ?] of Sir William Moleyns, Lord Moleyns." It is to be observed that (as in some other similar cases) this William was never KG. There was an M.I. at the Grey Friars, London, to "Ven Una., Dha. Anna Molens, ux Dili Willi, Dni de Molens, et filia Joins VMialysburgh. Aim., de Com. Cornub. ; ok 1 March 1487." Will dat, Feb. 1480/7, pr. 1487.
