In 17611 he was enabled by Act of Pari., to inherit any real or personal estate, in consequence of which he inherited the Kintore estates, though not the peerage dignity. (") The Great Seal Register [S.J contains 27 Nov. 1690, " Hcmi/sio ct rehabilitatio (ruliehni, Domint Inverurie, pro rcbellhme." ( b ) "The honours of Earl of Kintore, &0., all came to be indisputably forfeited from the succession opening in 1761, in terms of a remainder in the regrant [of 1694] to George, Earl Marshal, who had been attainted in 1716 by Act of Pari., and who, nVtW subsequently [1760] restored, to take as heir by remainder to tend*, was never rehabilitated so as to enable him to hold honour*, lint, again, after his 'death with- out issue in 1778 and co-extinction of the heirs under his remainder, the dignities in question, in virtue of another [remainder] in the regrant that then came into play, were saved to the next heir.
