He (f. in Stanhope street, 21, and was bur. 30 March 1797, in the burial ground (to St. James' chapel, Hampstead road), of St. James' Westni. Will pr. May 1797. His widow (by whom he had uiue sons aud six daughters) d. at Filzrov Farm, in Highgate, 13, and was bar. 20 July 1807, as afsd. Will pr. 1807. II. 1797. 2. George Ferdinand (Fitzroy), Baron Southampton, 1st s. and h., 4. 7 Aug. and bap. 16 Sep. 1761, at St. Geo. Han. sip ; entered the army, becoming filially. 1S08, Lieut. Gen., being Col. of the 34th Foot, 1797. He was M.P. for Bury, 1784-87, and sue. to the peerage, 21 March 1797. Frederick IvW'PKL, Bishop of Exeter (yr. s. of the 2d Fa in. of Ai.bf.maM.k), by Laura, illegit. da. of Sir Edward yVaLTOLU, KB. She, who was 4. 14 March 1765, d. s.p.m. at Dawlish, Devon, 20 June 1798. and was bur. (with great pom].) at St. Peter's, Exeter. He m. secondly, 2 Dec. 1S02, Frances Isabella, 2d da of Lord Robert SKY510UH (yr. s. of the 1st Mau- QUESS of HehtFORD), by his first wife, Amie, da. of Peter DeiJIK. He d. at Fitzroy Farm afsd., 21 June, and was bur. 2 July 1810, with his parents, aged 48. Admon. July 1810. Hia widow d. at Cheltenham, 3 June 1838, aged 61. Will pr. July 1S38. III. 1810. 3. Lieut, of Northamptonshire, 1S67. He m. firstly, 23 Feb. 1826, Harriet, only da. of the Hun. Henry litzroy Stanhope (yr. ». of the 2d Eaiil of HauiiinotoN). by Elizabeth, da. of ( — ) FaixuNeh. She d. s.p.s., 23 Oct. 1860, at her husband's seat, Whittlebury Lodge, co. Northampton. He m. secondly, 25 Feb. 1862, Jsmania Katharine, da. of Walter NUGEUT, a Baron of the Austrian Empire, bv Georgians Elizabeth, da. and coheir of Sir Charles Jeskinson, 4th Bart. He d. at 7 Audley square, 16 July 1872, aged 67. His widow, V.A. (3d class), and in 1878 a Lady of the Bedchamber, living 1S96. IV. 1872. 4. Cuarles Henry (Fitzroy), Baron Southampton, 1st s. and h. by second wife, 4. 11 May 1S67, in South, street, Park lane ; ed. at Eton and at Sandhurst ; entered the army, retiring as Capt. 10th Hussars. He m. 9 July 1892, at St. Patrick's, Dublin, Hilda Mary, 1st da. of Laurence (Dundas), 1st Marquess of Zetland, by Lilian Elizabeth Selina, da. of Richard George (Lumlev), 9th Eahl of Scarbhoduh. She was 4. 14 Nov. 1872. Family Estates — These, in 1883, appear to have been under 2,000 acres ; they were, however, in 1878 as under, viz., 4,687 acres iu Northamptonshire, and 2,174 in Bucks. Total 6,841 acres, worth £8,858 a year. Principal Scat iu 18S3. Whittle- bury Lodge,(<l) near Towcester, co. Northampton. ( a ) Her yst. sister was Countess of Abingdon. (y They appear to have been previously married ; he is described in the parish register as " heretofore a Bachelor " and she as " Laura Fitzroy, formerly Keppel, a minor. A somewhat similar case occurs in the same register as to the marriage, 27 April 1802, of Lord Kensington, only in that wise it is expressly added that the parties had been already married on 2 Dec 1797. (°) He was [the 7th] Master, 1827-31, of the celebrated " Quorn Hunt." C) The estate of Whittlebury was purchased iu 18S8 from tbe trustees of the (theu) lute Lord Southampton, by Sir llobert Loder, Bart., for £335,000.
