Somerset, the College and ehanntry of Attleborough, Co. Norfolk, kc. He m. firstly, about 1505, Elizabeth, da. of Henry (Stafford), 2d Dukk of Buckingham, by Katharine, da. of Richard ( Wydville), Haul Kivbiis. She was bur. at St. Laurence, poultney, London, but subsequently removed to Koreham, co. Essex. He m. secondly, after 1 521 , .Margaret, only da. of Thomas (Stanley), 2d Earl op Derby, by Anne, da. of Edward (Hastings!, Lord Hungerford and Hastings. She d. s.p.m. and was bur. at St. Laurence 'a afsd. He m. thirdly, .Mary, yst. da. of Sir John AlirNDKLL, of Lanherne, co. Cornwall, only child of his 2d wife Katharine, da. of Sir Thomas Orenvillf:. He if. at Chelsea, 27 Nov. and was bur. 4 Dec. 1542 at St. Laurence's afsd. (M.I. there), but subsequently removed to Bureham afsd. Will dat, 17 Oct. 1542. pr. 1545. Justice in Eyre, south of Trent, 1553 ; el. KG 24 April ami inst. 4 Aug. 1554. He m. firstly, before 21 May 1521, Elizabeth, 5th da, of Thomas (Howard!, Duke op Norfolk, by his second wife, Agnes, da. of Hugh Tyi.NEY. She d. IS Sep. 1537 and was bur. (as '• Lady Pitewalter ") in the Howard chapel, at Lambeth, but subsequently removed to IWeham afsd. He m. secondly, in or before 153!) Anne, da* of Sir Philip Calthohpe. Her he divorced, obtaining an act [1555-543 2 and 3 Th. and M. to debar, her from dower. Tho' one of the signatories^) to the letters patent, 16 June 1553, settling the Crown on Lady Jane (bay, he was sum. to Pari, v.p., by Queen Mary, as Lord FitzwaLtkr, 24 Aug. 1553, by writ directed " Thorn a; Dnmino Pitz- Walter" ; Capt. of the Gent Pensioners, 1553 83 ; was on the embassy to Spain, April to July 1554, to treat of the Queen's marriage with Philip II., to 'whom (155o) he was subsequently Gent, of the Privy (*) " A noted scholar, she translated the wise sayings and noted actions of the Emperor Severus which she dedicated to her father." Sir Thomas Mildinay and was ancestress, after 1629, of the Lords Fitzwalt.er. Besides these children there is a baptism at St. Gregory's, London, 2 Jan. 1559/b'O of " Elizabeth, da. of lite Countess of Sussex," the father, presumably, being unknown.
