Feb. 1887, for ;^3 10,000, while as to the Wiltshire estate, it was, in 1891-92, agreed to be sold for ;^7 50,000, but the contract (though confirmed by the House of Lords in Aug. 1892) fell through, and that (deeply encumbered) estate remains (1909) in the family.
