Assembly at Glasgow in 1638, in which his conduct was so favourably represented to the King by the High Commissioner (Marquess of Hamilton), that he was cr., 17 Nov. 1641, LORD BALVAIRD [S.], with rem. to his "heirs male. " On the death, Mar. 1642, of his cousin Mungo (Murray), 2nd Viscount of Stormont [S.], he sue. as heir of entail to the lands of that Lordship. (") He m.
