VITA
Dorothy Stimson was born October 10, 1890, in St. Louis, Mo. After nine years in Miss Spence's School in New York City she entered Vassar College. She received there the degree of A.B. with honors in 1912, and was elected to membership in the Phi Beta Kappa Society. In June, 1913, she received the degree of A.M. from Columbia University. She was a teacher of history in the Tudor Hall School for girls in Indianapolis, Ind., in 1913-1915; then as holder of a Curtis Scholarship for the year 1915-1916, she continued her graduate study at Columbia University during that winter and the following fall, working under the direction of Professor James Harvey Robinson. In February, 1917, she became instructor in history at Vassar College.
