Foundations that it is our true Intereſt that our Obligations to obey our Huſbands ſhould remain, till the Faſhion of the World paſſeth away; then will be accompliſhed our moſt blooming Hopes and animating Expectations, the Laws of Equality will then for ever be ſet Right, and, ſhe that humbleth herſelf, ſhall be exalted!
But tho' God thus puniſhes his Servants in Mercy, yet he never condemned them to be put under Axes, and Harrows of Iron, nor to paſs through the Brick-kiln! Theſe were Puniſhments for the Heathen, which called not upon his Name. 'Tis therefore no Excuſe for us, that the Women in Turkey are uſed worſe than we are.
